We ate in the restaurant Saturday lunch time...we arrived at 1pm and it the restaurant was empty and only started to fill when we left after 2pm...however, we received a very warm greeting and the waitress serving us was very pleasant and attentive. Delicious pate to start, husband loved the rarebit and also the burger as his main, Mother enjoyed the duck breast and my calves liver and mash was delicious, beautifully cooked. The mash was rustic and very tasty and veg cooked perfectly with a nice crunch. However, portion was far too large so we couldn't manage the pud but shall be back to try it. I imagine it's a pleasant pub in the Summer...a great kids area but set well away from the main outside dining which is a good idea. Interior nice and cosy...prices v reasonable.
