have been here many times ,and always found it good value for money.
generous portions of food ,and quick service .

the downsides are there is only a small carpark ,which might be a problem for elderly people .
and the resturant gets very busy esp on a friday night .if you dont like eating with live music in the background avoid friday nights!.
theses are the only negatives

Have been quite a few times to The Galley Hall and never have had a problem ! But today changed that. Popping in on a Monday lunch time my husband and I thought that as it was lovely weather it would be nice to have a pub lunch and to eat outside, went in to order the food and looked at the menu when we noticed the specials board decide that the Thai Chicken Curry sounded really nice ! Went to the bar to place the order and was then told that if we were going to eat outside that we couldn't order from the specials board ? No explanation was offered ! We could have fish and chips, jacket potatoes, burgers ! So could someone please explain what the difference is ! Food is food. We ended up having a ploughmens, but must say that the experience has now put us off going back.

We went here for a meal and drinks to celebrates a friends 30th. Lovely food, good portions, quick service. Friendly staff. Play area for children. Tables to sit outside. Clean toilets. Everything you could want for a family pub! Not a lot of parking so had to park on the road, this walk might be a problem for elderly.

Two of us turned up on a Friday lunch time - pub was busy but we managed to get a table. The service was a bit slow in terms of staff checking if you wanted a drink, but I was happy to go to the bar when I wanted another.

There isn't much info about the prices and I couldn't find a menu online - starters are about £4.95, mains range between £7-16 depending on what you get (pub usuals are about £9), deserts around £4.

BUT, the portions are great and the food is well worth it. I had a 16oz T-bone steak and was really happy. You can choose from chips, jacket or new potatoes and vegetables or a salad.

Worth the half hour drive to get there!

Table booked for 7 adults and 2 children on bank holiday monday and considering the pub was heaving, we received excellent service for both food and drinks. Seated inside, the pub was cosy and friendly, just as well as the weather was typically grey and miserable! Shame as the outside terraces and gardens are lovely, with lots of room for kids to play ball and mess around on the slides and climbing frames. Nevertheless the rubbish weather didn't stop the kids and one elderly old fool from burning off the calories!
Much needed as the portions are absolutely enormous, whether it's the fish, chicken, steak and kidney pudding, chips - I could go on.
All in all a very enjoyable family get together that didn't cost the earth!
