Lovely building in a beautiful setting.
We were booked in for one night and arrived early hoping to make the most of it but not unexpectedly the room was not free until 3pm. So we had a short walk around the lovely gardens and lake and went into town. The manager was very helpful and the reception staff functional. Room (Lime) was nice and big with views of gardens and modern bathroom also with view and importantly in summer a window that opens. There was some slight noise from outside presumably from an air-conditioning unit.
Breakfast very ordinary in conservatory-style dining room again overlooking lovely gardens. There seemed to be a lack of kitchen staff as 4 or 5 different waiters came to our table but it took ages to bring poached eggs on toast (they had run out of muffins).
On check out Manager again very helpful.
This place could be really special with a bit more dedication from the more junior staff.More
