What a treat! Great location, delightful hosts, fantastic value for money. Breakfasts were fun with Alberto looking after us, the bed was supremely comfortable and the decor quirky. An excellent B and B highly recommended. ps I would suggest you ring to reserve a parking space if you are arriving by car.

Room Tip: The Green Room will accommodate 3 adults in 2 rooms if necessary.

What a lovely little quaint b&b. Full of charm and set in a wonderful location...the host and hostess are real characters and really added to the whole experience. Alberto reminds me if someone out of faulty towers and is soooo cute...love the way he went and cut fresh basil out of the garden to pop on my breakfast...everything about this place is fab...room was lovely and we stayed in the red room which was an old favourite of Sir Cliff Richard apparently.

If you are looking for a Holiday Inn experience this is not the place for you. From the moment that my wife and I walked through the door we were treated as friends and warmly welcomed into our host's home. We were shown to the Green room, which was a small suite with all the comforts. Decoration and furnishings are best described as "individual" but add to the pleasant experience. Exceptional cleanliness throughout is apparent. The cooked breakfast, supplemented by the cold buffet, was excellent.
The location, within the quiet and picturesque conservation area, is unbeatable. The winding street of Georgian hoses is fairytale, excellent local pubs serve excellent real ale, the shops and restaurants are a short stroll away and, of course, the Cathedral is opposite.

If a reasonably priced B&B is what you are after then this is the place for you. It was certainly the right choice for us.

Room Tip: I am told that the White room is even better, but I am sure that all rooms are to a high standard. The area is very quiet and a good nights sleep is assured, although your Sunday morning wake up call will probably be the Cathedral bells.

Lovely location so close to the Cathedral,Park and City Centre. We stayed in the very comfortable and spacious White Room with its windows looking over towards the Cathedral and up the hill towards the City Centre.Surprising quiet for being so central.Off road parking is also a great bonus.Friendly Hosts and the substantial breakfast were very much appreciated.Thank you.

Lovely stay at Tankerfield House - and what a location! My room - the beautiful and spacious White Room - had a view from the two windows up towards the town, across to the top of the Abbey and down the road where there is a lovely park and lake around the corner. Jacqueline was very friendly and the room so very comfortable. Perfect for my trip on business. Breakfast next morning was superbly cooked by an Italian chef who was also really friendly - one of the best cooked scrambled eggs ever.

I am really looking forward to returning on my next visit. Thank you.
