Verulamium Museum St Albans is easily accessible by foot (20 mins) from St Albans Railway Station, and is well signposted from the town centre. It is a very well presented museum which successfully exhibits the town's famous Roman heritage and has many important archaeological artefacts in well lit and modern surroundings. Upon entry a number of video presentations provide the visitor with a comfortable sit down to gain an initial overview of the various displays. The museum is suitable for both children and adults alike.
The main walk from the town centre (follow signs) can be via a wonderful street full of varied Georgian houses, or alternatively across a very nice park. While there is no provision for museum refreshment, a very nearby restaurant is only a few minutes away and reasonably priced.
