They serve excellent coffee, in an authentic Italian style. I would choose this cafe over any of the major chains, which are also present in St Albans. If like me you find that Starbucks' coffee doesn't actually taste of coffee, then try Barissimo. They also serve a good range of food, from snacks to meals - lots of very appetising pasta dishes etc. It's always busy, which speaks for itself.

Just the best coffee in St Albans- much more authentic and friendly than the big chains elsewhere in town. It also does wonderful soup- amazing paninis - fantastic salads and great pastries. I would never have coffee anywhere else if I could (obviously a problem if I'm not actually in St Albans), A lovely family run coffee shop

Barrisimo’s is by far the best independent coffee shop in St.Albans and has earned several accolades to that fact. I have been a regular customer for more than a decade and never a poor cappuccino.

A selection of freshly made toasted sandwiches, pastries, pasta and soup are available or sandwiches can be made to order. Their homemade Panettone bread and butter pudding is gorgeous.

A small selection of newspapers is available to read (except Saturday’s).

Barrissimo is everything a restaurant and coffee shop should be. Warm, welcoming and inviting,in contrast to the cold ,clinical manner that I was met with by another venue today. a family run business that cares. It's music can be jazzy and not to everyone's taste and on a busy day,it can feel claustrophobic. Honestly,it's one of the places that I,as a local would rather you didn't know about, because it is such a gem and I would rather it not be packed out! The Panetone is the best in town-better than Carluccio's or Dolce Ialia by a country mile.
