“Poor quality and thus overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2014

Dropped in for a quick lunch & coffee. Although the coffee was good, we had almost inedible, dry and poorly filled focaccias which as a result were hugely overpriced. A ridiculous explanation that ' this is how they come from the manufacturer ' and an offer to give us another one was, needless to say, rejected by us and we would recommend anyone wanting a quick bite and drink to go elsewhere! Add to this that the server had a bandaged finger with a TOTALLY inadequate scrap of the legally required blue plaster at the tip, and we certainly would never eat or drink anything again in this cafe.

“Overpriced mediocrity”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

Popped in here for a quick coffee. Just because it is located in a nice building in a convenient location does not mean it is good! Nice coffee but that's about it. Layout is very haphazard and the establishment has poor acoustics making it noisy. Uncomfortable chairs and tables too close together.

The prices for food are a rip off. £1.75 for a biscotti. £2.50 for a bacon roll which was just that. No butter on the roll and an extra charge if you wanted sauce. Taste was poor too. Won't bother returning.

“Lovely place for tea, coffee and a bite to eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2013

Beautiful colonial style decor in the centre of St. Albans.

A wide selection of teas and coffees; the peppermint tea is exceptional and I always ensure I buy some to take home when I visit !

Good selection of savoury snacks as well as gorgeous cakes and buns.

Order at the counter and the waiter/ waitresses do the rest. Very good service.

“Central location and nice teas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

Can't miss this cafe in the centre of St Albans. It's one of the nicest cafes in the centre in terms of a nice place to get a coffee and read the paper. The cakes are good too. Do note that it can get quite loud when full...

“Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

Food is brilliant so are drinks. Personally, I'd recommend the Rainbow Nation biscuits. Nearest National Rail Station is St Albans Abbey serving London Midland trains to Watford Junction or St Albans serving First Capital Connects to Brighton or Sutton via London
