“nice place to stay”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

Stayed for two nights at this B and B and it was an excellent stay. Room nice and cosy, decour very nice. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Nice en-suite bathroom. The only negative was glass shelving above the sink,as you could easily bang your head while trying to wash your face. The lady who runs the place was nice enough and I would definatly stay there again.

I have to buck the trend and only give 3 stars. We stayed for one short night in this highly recommended B and B as a stop over ready for a very early start from Heathrow, something we made the owners aware of when booking. The accommodation is of an exceptional standard with everything you want from a B and B and without doubt exceeds most hotel standards. However, we would advise trying to negotiate a discount if you need to skip breakfast as the offered "pack up" is to be avoided at all costs! Try to save the money and eat at the airport if you are heading that way on holiday. Maybe a bit nit-picky but I'm entitled to my opinion. Shower in the "designer" bathroom was pretty feeble and the creaking floorboards all over the room made it impossible to be quiet for the other guests. Also, off road parking is very limited, something not highlighted on the website. Due to our early start I ended up having to park on the very busy road outside....not impressed! Like I said....not quite perfect......

Room Tip: If you have an early start negotiate discount on no breakfast. Watch the parking on the busy road ou...

I cannot recommend Fleuchary House enough. Everything is thought of, from little details in the rooms to a particularly good breakfast, alongside a very welcoming and friendly owner who cannot do enough for you. The standards for future B&Bs has been set, and I dont think they will be bettered then at Fleuchary House!

We have just spent this week staying at the best B&B ever!! we have travelled all over the world and stayed in many places and this was by far one of the best. Value for money is an understatement they really think of everything even down to hot water bottles and fluffy slippers. Breakfast was great and the lady who runs this place was very friendly and happy to help. My kiwi and canadian friends loved staying in this victorian house and I wouldn't stay any where else in St Albans after being here.

Linda really does run a very slick operation in a great location just outside the town centre. From initial booking her attention to detail has been spot on. The rooms are well appointed, the bathrooms are a real gem, especially with the rain showers. Breakfast was just the right side of a feast and everyone left happy. I really don't know why people would stay in London when it's so easy to stay with Linda and travel in. Thanks for a great stay...

Attractively decorated and furnished, Linda's b&b provides all the comforts of a home from home. The rooms are pleasantly appointed and decorated with great attention obviously paid to detail of design, fittings and décor. The bed was comfortable, the loft room cleverly designed to maximise space, with great views from the art & design window of the autumnal golden-leaved tulip tree in next door's back garden. Everything in the bedroom has been carefully selected for maximum comfort and pleasure to the senses, down to the soft angora throw on the chaise longue. Linda is a matchless hostess whose breakfasts are wonderful: she pays great attention to every detail, and managed to make every guest feel welcome - and the breakfasts are superb.

Room Tip: Third-floor room obviously involves climbing several flights of stairs: it's worth the effort th...
