Description: The Fishbourne is a historic inn in the hamlet of Fishbourne close to the Wightlink ferry terminal for car and foot passengers to Portsmouth. Also located on the coastal path this inn proves popular with lakers and cyclists alike. With 5 en suite letting rooms and a very good reputation for it's dining tis is a very popular inn. The AA have awarded them dining awards for the past six years and the accommodation is rated 4 star by the AA. With a lovely outside patio that overlooks the Solent this is a must visit destination, only a short stroll from Quarr Abbey it is well worth a trip

We popped over to the island for a business lunch, I had whitebait and pan fried cod with chorizo - both were great! Really fresh and well cooked fish, polished off the lot. Will most likely go back when we next visit. Just 2 mins from the ferry too, easy to get to on foot.

We have been to this restaurant before but not for a while. Planned to have breakfast there before getting the ferry back today. Got there early but they let us in rather than making us wait until they were officially open. Nicely decorated hotel/restaurant/pub, very clean and welcoming. My breakfast was lovely, fresh, great eggs. My friends poached eggs were hard, I don't know who was more disappointed! Friendly staff but he could have done with a hand. These are small criticisms as I will go again. Best breakfast I've had in ages.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and went to this pub for dinner. It was a rainy Monday evening and the place was pleasantly populated with family groups finishing their meals at about 7.30, couples and small groups arriving for dinner for at least an hour afterwards. I had a delightful duck dish - all dairy free which I need - and my partner had two starters of seafood. We also revisited a French wine we had not had in years courtesy of their rather unusual wine list - a Fitou. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere so much we returned the next day for lunch before catching our ferry back to Southampton. We would definitely return should we go back to the Isle of Wight and only wish we had such a lovely place nearby in Poole.

We visited The Fishbourne for the 4th time March 2014. The food is consistently good, reasonably priced and well prepared, presented and cooked. The staff are also friendly and attentive. Portion sizes are generous and the food very tasty.

We were a party of 3 and we all enjoyed everything including the friendly atmosphere. The drinks including wine are also reasonably priced.

Well done again The Fishbourne. We will be visiting again soon!

t comment on rooms as staying at lakeside up the road, which is nice but bland. Food there isn't a patch on Fishbourne inn. Nick the waiter was so freindly. Simon the chef is fantastic. Lobster thermidor, best ever tasted. Plaice local, fresh and delicious. Great atmospere even in off season. Would love to come back and stay in summer.
