We've just returned home after a wonderful weekend in The Cart House - a beautiful cottage on Westcourt Farm. So homely and comfortable. All rooms well equipped and spacious. A wonderful welcome surprise of a homemade cake. Can't wait to return. Five star holiday accomodation. We won't bother looking anywhere else next time we go to the IOW - The Cart House has it all.

Westcourt farm is very old, but well cared for and clean. Very good value for money, for a good sized room with comfortable bed. Daily cakes and water in the room along with the tea/coffee. We thought the packed lunch for £3.50 per person was very reasonable. Cooked breakfast very nicely done. Plenty of coffee. Julie was friendly and accomodating. Just a few irritations that could easily be rectified: no shampoo in the shower, only orange and grapefruit juice for breakfast and cooked breakfast choice unnecessarily rigid, shaver socket not working (hardly a unique feature of hotel rooms!). The en suite is just about due for a makeover. Lovely location in the most beautiful part of the island.

Room Tip: All 3 rooms will be quiet.

Stayed there with a friend for two nights in a twin room. Usual coffee making facilities and also home made cake and sweets was a nice touch. Comfortable beds and very clean with a good en-suite and shower with a bit of force for a change! Breakfast was comprehensive, well cooked and way too much for us!!! Packed lunch was excellent value and tasty too. Nothing was too much trouble and Excellent walks from the property and a bus stop right outside for those on foot.

My friends and I spent 2 nights at Westcourt farm. The owner lady was very kind, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were amazingly beautiful and clean. There were cakes and chocolate in each room too! woohoo!! There were many selections of breakfast we can choose from. Each room has a tv with DVD player and the owner has lots of DVD for use to choose from. The house is very beautiful with full of characters. We really enjoyed our stays. Thank you so much.

Room Tip: We were a group of 4, we stayed in a room with 3 single-beds and a double bed room with 1 single bed...

My wife and I stayed at Westcourt Farm for the first time in 2001 and returned this summer for five nights after too long away. This time we were accompanied by our seven year old daughter.

We love this place. Julie is extremely welcoming and friendly and produces top-notch breakfasts! Our daughter loved it too and was thrilled to return to the room each day to discover what kind of homemade cake had been left for us. The rooms are in keeping with the house and you can almost feel the history seeping out from every corner of the building.

Thanks for an excellent stay - I'm sorry it took so long to write a review - we will not be leaving it another ten years before we return again.

We arrived at this lovely character B&B having not booked in advance. Despite the owners just returning from a family day out, Julie was welcoming and had a nice cosy farmhouse bedroom waiting. A very short walk away is a lovely village pub where we had dinner that night. Breakfast the following morning was the best of four B&Bs we stayed at during our break on the IOW with an excellent full English, nice fruit salad, choice of cereals and a selection of jams, honey and marmalades to choose from. We would gladly stay here again.

We've just returned from a relaxing stay at the Cart House self-catering cottage at Westcourt Farm. We'd love to recommend it enthusiastically, but we're tempted to keep this little secret to ourselves. However, if you do go to the IoW and want to escape the crowds, Westcourt Farm is the place to stay, either in the Cart House or at their B&B. West Wight is the prettiest part of the island, and if you sit quietly on a hillside near Freshwater you might hear the ghostly echo of the 1970 IoW festival on the breeze, but you won't hear anything else.
