This is an exceptional place to stay. Breakfasts are superb and they are very helpful with tips of where to eat in the evening. I have never been anywhere that beats this for friendliness and helpfulness. There is no problem too big or small that they will not help with.

The B&B is part of a working farm. However, you would not know upon arrival as it is kept remarkable clean and tidy with well kept gardens. The B&B itself is an old manor house and the decor is very much in keeping with this theme which only adds to its charms. The Russel family themselves are very welcoming and friendly and will offer assistance where needed. We found the room to be very large and comfortable which meet all of our family's needs.
We stayed whilst they where lambing and my son got to see baby lambs be born which was a fabulous experience for him.

Julie and the Russell family are warm and welcoming people. The Old Manor House Farm is working and rustic and lends it's self to a relaxing and picturesque setting, plus is a short walk from a good pub.

Julie arranges ferry crossings for you if you require. Family & Dog friendly and clean and cosy.

We stayed in the Manor House and we shall go back in the summer to enjoy the Farm at it's best.

We loved the ambience of the farm and it's surroundings.

This is the first hotel/ B&B that I've found and stayed in via tripadvisor and therefore thought it appropriate to write a brief review of my experience.
Obviously drawn to the 5* reviews below of westcourt farm we had high expectations and they didn't disappoint.

To start, the B&B itself is a beautiful old manor house with a lot of character in a picturesque setting and a short walk from a decent pub.

We arrived Tuesday afternoon to be welcomed by Julie and introduced to our room. The room was a good size and very cozy with a large comfortable bed. The en-suite was modern and clean and there is free wifi access if needed.

There was plenty of drink amenities in the room and it was lovely to relax in the room on arrival with a cup of tea and fresh homemade cake (a recurrent daily treat).

The breakfasts as already mentioned are brilliant and really set you up for the day.

There's nothing else to mention that hasn't already been said, but staying at westcourt farm really made it a relaxing trip to the Isle of Wight. We feel lucky for finding such a gem

Looking forward to coming back in the summer!

We've just returned from a long weekend at The Carthouse at Westcourt Farm, Shorwell.
We wanted a relaxing weekend and that's exactly what we got. We found it easy to book direct with Julie Russell at the farm and she also arranged our ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth so we didn't need to do anything.
We received a warm welcome on arrival. The Carthouse is a 2 bedroom barn conversion on the farm, brilliantly equipped with everything you need and a massive garden.
They were the best nights sleep I've had in ages with the sound of cows and sheep as a late morning alarm call, perfect.
When the weather was bad we headed to Newport for some Christmas shopping and when the sun shone, we hiked the hills where the scenery and views are spectacular. There are some great pub walks and we ended up at The Crown in the village, about 7 minutes walk along the road from The Carthouse (take a torch at night, provided by The Carthouse!) with an extensive menu, children and dogs welcome.
Can't tell you how great The Carthouse, Westcourt Farm and the Russell family are, go see for yourself, we highly recommend it.

Room Tip: The Carthouse has one double with views out across the garden and one twin bedroom with views across to the main house and gardens.
