Came here from the other hostel in town. Interior is very nice looking, though it seems to carry a religious theme which I didn't appreciate. The female dorm room is on the top floor which many stairs up, so be warned. It has a sink in the room, 2 lockers (tho there's 4 beds) and mirrors (bring your own lock). Radiator works well. Seems silly to have bed lights if they're going to take a week to fix. I wish I could say the place is quiet, but the fact is, it's a family hostel and this is England. Quite irritating is how the room doors slam shut because of the catch mechanism on it. Whoever thought that one up had never stayed in a hotel. Kitchen is very nice, tho obsessively hygenic and safety ridden. Showers are good. :) Cleaning doesn't include the carpet or window sill, etc. The one thing I really, really didn't like is that the price doesn't inc. internet and if you want that, you can either pay way too much for 24 hours or way too much for 20 minutes. The front desk didn't know how their system works, so be warned that the 20 minutes you purchase can not be used at different intervals - it's either all at once or you lose any time you don't use! Horrible system for a hostel (especially the registration method) and it's just a money-making scheme for YHA. There's a college down the road that maybe you can get an open line at. And if you're tight on money, the Tesco express down the road discounts a lot of perishables daily, usually in the morning. Sometimes there are some really great deals.
