We've been guests of this wonderful B&B at the beginning of Sep, 2010 during the Fresher's Week at Kent University .
The location is the most appropiate one for those who wanted to be close to the University but in the same time at a walking distance to the city .
Spotless and quiet - good breakfast : we'll come back to this property any time when we'll be back in Canterbury .
Many thanks to the owners : Pauline & Tony !

I stayed at this B&B on a weekend visit to Canterbury with my boyfriend.

We stayed in the double room on the ground floor (£65 for the night) which was excellent with a comfortable bed, modern bathroom and spotlessly clean.

Breakfast is served on the ground floor in a nice, spacious area which retains the character of the pub (brick walls and wooden beams) that the B&B used to be. There is a good selection of food on offer for breakfast with cereal, yoghurt, fruit and traditional full English all available, as well as delicious home-made banana bread.

In terms of location, it is a pleasant 15 minute walk up the hill from the centre of Canterbury (opposite the university campus). We walked down to the walled city centre for dinner and there is a taxi rank by the entrance to the pedestrianised area of the city if you feel tired on your way back up!

The bus route to Whitstable also goes right by the B&B which was useful for us as we travelled there when we left on Sunday morning.

From booking to leaving, the owners were very helpful, welcoming and friendly.

I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B and overall I would say it is very good value for money.

The rooms are modern, clean, and well maintained. The owners, Tony and Pauline, are very friendly and quite knowledgeable. I would definitely stay again!

I stayed for one night as part of a long stay in Canterbury. The rooms were very good value for the price, good quality, and were spotlessly clean. There was an LCD TV with freeview plus tea, coffee, biscuits etc, and the rooms are double glazed. The B&B is located a mile from the centre at the entrance to the University. There are buses running regularly up and down the hill to the centre.

I got a very good nights sleep. The breakfast was good and you can borrow irons etc from the owners. The owners were friendly and helpful. I highly recommed this B&B compared to the many different hotels I stayed in on this trip.

The City of Canterbury is a great B&B. Tony and Pauline, the owners take great care of the guests and the place. Clean and nice rooms with excellent bathrooms. A short walk from the University (best place to stay if you are visiting!) and wonderful views of Canterbury from the top of the hill. A great experience.

We stayed at this B&B as it was recommended to us by a friend at Kent Uni (the B&B is directly opposit the Uni). Its a lovely old building full of character and history. Our room was beautifully decorated and well maintained. We asked the owner if he could possibly give us a number for a taxi into town (its @10 mins walk, easily do-able but we were being lazy!) but rather than giving us a number he insisted on running us in himself as he was making the trip anyway!! I have to say we have stayed in plenty of B&B's but this one far exceeded our expectations of what a B&B should deliver in terms of service, quality and comfort. My husband particularly enjoyed the well cooked Full English on Sunday morning!Very friendly, welcoming and excellent value for money.
