If you want olde world and close to city centre you can't do better than House of Agnes. Our room in the original house looked very appealing, four poster beds look attractive but ours was a bit small and none to comfortable. The bathroom was very small and intimate. The breakfast was excellent and a good choice including a special of the day. Given location and ability to park would choose again providing a better bed and bathroom were available.

I stayed in House of Agnes for 4 days. I booked the stable room. I was very pleased with what I have booked. The room was clean and the toilet/bathroom was in par with most highend hotels i stayed before. Its clean, bright and stainless. The powerful shower impressed me most. You really need that after a day out. The room was good and bed was nice and comfortable. The staff are all very helpful and chearful. Sandie, the owner is a great host. She is attentive to your request and responded quickly. The location is excellent, walking distance to center and you also have good dinning just outside. The only minor down side is the train noise which may be a bid negative to some people though I have no problem at all. Overall, i have a very pleasant stay and will sure come back again in near future.

Many quality hotels offer hair driers, in room kettle, toiletries etc, here they go even further for your comfort and convenience; like umbrellas in each room in case you forget, and a self service honesty bar. The hotel is conveniently situated with good restaurants and places of interest a short walk away. Friendly staff, free parking and a homely atmosphere.

Stayed here after reading reviews and wasn't disappointed. My husband booked the Venice room as a surprise and it was great. Quirky decor that just went together. The room had a jacuzzi bath in the room. Very nice touch was the luxury toiletries. Double doors out to fire escape that looked over the garden. Free parking and an ideal location for visiting Canterbury. The bar had an honesty system which worked very well. Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Decor throughout was amazing and I loved it. Cooked breakfast was good with plenty of continental choice as well. Would recommend this guest house.

There is not much more that you can say about the House of Agnes that hasn't already been said.
I went with my partner for a one night celebration away from London and everything was delightful.
Our room; ‘Paris’ located in the main house was lovely, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The quirkiness of the whole building completed it for us.
Sandie the owner is a faultless host and goes above and beyond any expectations you may have; even sending us a card to congratulate us on our good news.
The website is accurate with all descriptions so there were no surprises. The room guide even states that “we don’t claim to be perfect but we hope you have fun”. We certainly did and it was perfect.

Myself and family loved it hear. The location was perfect, walking distance to the shops and restaurants and the Cathedral. Our room was lovely ( I would choose this room again ) we had our own outside sitting area which is a bonus when the weather is good. The staff were friendly and helpful too.

Room Tip: we were located at the rear on the side of the entrance to the car park and the other room where my...

We have just returned from a two night stay in the House of Agnes. We went to Canterbury for my birthday. We arrived on Friday night to be met by Michelle who was very helpful and showed us around. Love the honesty bar even if you do not use it it's nice to know it's there. We were shown to our room which was the Marrakesh it is a room with an extra room come lounge area so lots of space. Once in our room there was a birthday card and some chocolates which I thought was a lovely gesture.
The room was lovely and clean as was all the place. The towels were lovely and fluffy and the toiletries were a nice idea. It is always good to have tea/ coffee in the room and there was a good selection. The breakfast both mornings was great and it was a nice touch that they had a speciality of the day if you preferred.
The House of Agnes is in a great location and we were able to walk everywhere. So once the car was parked that's were it stayed until we left.
Sandy was a good host and on Saturday came and spoke to all the guests whilst at breakfast, she keeps a great place and we would certainly return.
