Stayed here overnight before going through the channel tunnel which is about 20 minutes away so nice and handy. There is a huge car park at the rear so no problems parking. Most Innkeepers lodges are decorated in the same style so you know what you're going to get, the room was clean and well presented and at the rear which I had requested in advance as there could be some road noise at the front. There are tea/coffee making facilities and a small flat screen tv in the room, the bathroom was also clean and had a large shower, the only downside being a shower curtain which I hate as they chase you around sticking to you every time you turn, however the shower was powerful and the towels were large and nice quality. They do not supply toiletries as standard but are happy to if asked.

We ate in the restaurant and the service was spot on, the staff were attentive and friendly and our meal arrived quickly, we both had haddock and chips which were lovely and not badly priced. They provide a continental buffet breakfast in the morning which is included in the very reasonable price but you can have a cooked breakfast for an additional charge. The continental breakfast included cereals, toast, cheeses, jams etc, nothing fabulous but good enough.

I have paid a lot more to stay in worse places and would definitely stay here again.

Visited here after trip to view an art exhibition .With family, seven of us. Seemed to have enough staff but we waited at the bar for several minuets to be served. Didn't have to wait to long for a table however. The décor in this inn I find very pleasing it's calm and relaxing with comfortable chairs. The food is average or was on this occasion, Fish pie uninteresting, Gammon steak overcooked .Burger bun was stale and left. Steak cooked as requested, Chicken with bacon and cheese fine. Tuna portion seemed small, Haddock and chips Haddock fine but chips not so good. Shall return though simply because I just like the place!

This hotel is full of charm and character, rooms were very clean and looked in keeping with the character of the building. We enjpyed every minute of our stay except the fire alarm at 3am due to a person smoking in their room at night, but this is hardly the hotels fault.
As I have said in my review of the restaurant downstairs, the food is a good standard, but it was the staff that made this place what it is!

Neither would you anticipate nor expect a group of people to be as welcoming as the staff here, you would require nor wish for staff in a small hotel like this to be more accommodating of your every need and make a stay as special.

We are looking forward to planning to another visit, to continue completing our family tree and will definitly be staying here again.

We ended up in this place because the Youth Hostel had overbooked our room. But this place is much better value for money. Friendly staff - quiet rooms - good food and last but not least ... love the Pimms :-).
Location is excellent next to the Park&Ride = saves you a lot of money compared to parking in Canterbury. There is plenty of parking at the Inn (whilst the parking of the Youth Hostel was already full by the time we arrived and parking on the street is not easy!)

My large extended family booked all of the 9 rooms for 2 nights on 4th to 6th May 2013 for a family wedding, and can't fault the experience.

The Hotel is a lovely olde worlde affair, with lot of quaint seating areas to settle in for a few drinks. The bedrooms were spotless, the beds are a bit soft, but you can't please everyone on this score as I don't particularly like an extra firm bed. There was good quality bed linen, which for me is much more important. Only stayed two nights, and I suppose I am quite tolerant of less than perfect accommodation so long as it's clean and friendly. Tea and coffee making facilities, lots of clean towels and pillows, hair dryer in room and ironing facilities if required.

Complementary toiletries even razors and cotton buds if needed. You do hear traffic and birds in your room, but it didn't keep me awake. Maybe the effects of the alcohol lol. No problems with the shower filling up! and lots of hot water.

Check in was strictly to 3pm, but if you are aware of this, then not a problem. We got checked in with no problems and no delays. We arrived early and were allowed in to purchase breakfast and they held our luggage for us which allowed us to spend time in Canterbury itself. A lovely city.

My brother was silly and left his key at reception not realising there are no night staff on after the bar shuts, but there is an emergency number to call if any problems and a pleasant young man appeared after a call out to let my brother into his room at 1am.

You have to remember this is a budget hotel and we booked in advance for better rates of £105 for two nights. So I feel it was good value for money, this included a continental breakfast, but you can (my husband did) order a full English for £6.95 which was quite big and looked lovely, my husband seemed to enjoy it.

We booked a table for 20 for Saturday night and was lovely. They seated us all together with a special arrangement so we were well accommodated. The food could be better, but was ok and plenty of choice.

There are lots of car parking available, and a lovely beer garden to sit in the sun. The staff were friendly and helpful, can't fault them.

All in all, a lovely experience and I would like to go back and see a bit more of Canterbury as it was a lovely place. I would definitely stay here again.

My advice, take it as you find it, it is just a break away and not home! Don't expect 5 stars as it isn't listed as this, but lovely just the same.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the beer garden at the back, no street noises at night.

This is a well situated hotel for sight seeing in and around Canterbury. it is walking distance to the Park and Ride, which is great for trips to the centre of Canterbury and being on the New Dover Road handy for the coast. The room rate includes a continental breakfast, but cooked breakfasts are available for a reasonable price. The en-suite room was clean and comfortable, with the usual tea and coffee facilities provided. Service depended very much on the staff on duty. As we checked in we read a notice on the bar advertising a cooked breakfast that could be included in our room rate if we wished. The young girl who checked us in was unable to do this for us, asked for help and finally gave up and said we could pay for it at breakfast time. She turned out to be an excellent waitress, later in the evening, but clearly over stretched and the service was slow.
