Booked the hotel on the recommendation of one of our group of 9 who had met on a trip to Canada 5 years ago. He obtained a special rate of our party. I managed to get the single room for £65 per night with breakfast. Loved the old world feel of the place which was in keeping with Canterbury. Yes the carpet was a bit worn but it was not important. We had clean towels everyday. Bed changed every two days. Room over looking the courtyard. Not too noisy although it was on the main street into town. Room and bathroom clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful with good choice. Had a good pot of tea in the bar on two occasions. Well placed for walking into town and for the railway station. Will definitely use when next in Canterbury.
