“A taste of old England”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Great old pub at the start of the high street.Very old but very comfortable, some steep stairs but no problem if you have a reasonable level of fitness. It also has parking, handy in the city centre. It is easy to imagine yourself as a pilgrim staying at this inn.

Stayed 1 night with mum. Mike the receptionist handled the booking very well, within a minute - all confirmation were sent via email.

We stayed at the back on ground floor room in the Woodmill building. Very discreet, private and clean

Comfortable spacious room with two single beds were split on two floors with the bathroom upstairs.

I would highly recommend for anyone to stay in the Woodmill building if you want a goodnight sleep.

We will be staying there again when we go back

Wonderful Old Coaching Inn with a wealth of charm from the pictures to the chandeliers.
Lots of character. Breakfast was full English and was great. We had a ground floor room with the street just on the other side of the window. Not a problem with blackout curtains and double glazing. We slept like a top.

We stayed here for three nights whilst we explored Canterbury. Fantastic location; ten minute walk into the town centre, where there are plenty of pubs, restaurants and all of the main attractions in Canterbury. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room, although compact, was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was lovely; there was a bit of confusion on our first day as to whether it was self-service or not, but that was clarified for us. Lots of choice of food and they cook fresh eggs to order which we really appreciated. Lovely old building with on-site parking and free wifi. A very comfortable stay; would recommend and return myself.

Room Tip: Don't forget to get the car park access code before you leave during the day, otherwise you end...

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Only 5 minute walk to city centre. Check in was smooth, the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and the room well equipped and a good size. We had a drink in the cosy bar before heading out, and breakfast the following morning was nice enough, if not spectacular. Would love to stay again in this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Room 22 opened up to an outside seating area
