The hotel was lovely and the staff were all really very helpful . Our room was warm and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. We had a very good stay at the Falstaff Hotel. We also had a lovely meal at the Foundry Brewery and Restaurant.

A night away with the husband, booked a cheaper room, was at the back of hotel and very quite. Top marks for cleanliness and bed very comfortable. Only suggestions are that room could do with a fridge and watch out for exceptionally hot water from taps. Breakfast was very nice. Would come again but may book a different more expensive room.

We went for character for our Canterbury hotel and discovered a wonderfully located hotel. We had booked a junior suite which was lovely. However, that was two flights up and no lifts or busboys to help with the bags!
The room and the bathroom were very nicely appointed with windows and comfortable bed and chairs. The location was so wonderful that we kept coming and going. Included breakfast was substantial. Music from next door stopped early enough to not be a problem.

Room tip: Check the floors if you have too many bags.

I stayed for the weekend at this hotel with a friend. It was comfortable and I would choose to stay there again. The staff were friendly. The location is perfect and so close to everything in the centre of town, but unfortunately along with that comes the noise. Late at night there was a lot of shouting and general noise coming from the street outside and the old windows and secondary glazing don't keep any noise out.

We breakfast included in our room prjce so found it odd that with breakfast, tea and filter coffee were included but we were required to pay £3.50 for a cappuccino. i haven't experienced this in other hotels of this standard.

The bar downstairs is lively and busy but there is plenty of space with tables spread around in different areas. we had pizza there and that was really good.

We had a lovely impromptu stay here on a cold and dark Monday night in October. The hotel was pretty quiet, we booked a ‘cosy’ room but were given a bigger one. The room was lovely; super comfortable, pristine and spacious enough for two. The bar is good too, cocktails are pricey but delicious and it’s well stocked. Staff here are friendly enough. The only big let down was the breakfast, nice to have an a la carte menu but the food was really poor, the most basic ingredients and definitely not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel-frozen avocado, cheap sliced bread, basic veg and juice from concentrate. Only the coffee was worthwhile. It was very inexpensive to add when we booked, but definitely not worth the price of adding on at the hotel, try and one of Canterbury’s great coffee shops instead. Would stay again for sure but avoid eating here.

Room tip: Parking is good value Eat somewhere else Cafe du Soleil is good for lunch or dinner
