Called into The Parrot for dinner by chance and we were so glad we did. Four of us sat down to dinner and all four of us received excellent food with really friendly attentive staff. Not too pricey for the portion sizes and the quality!

We visited the Parrot for the so-called Sunday roast while on holiday in the city. The atmosphere and decoration are very nice whereas the food is exactly what you would expect from a traditional UK pub. We opted for the beef and the chicken. Both were very well cooked served with adequate portions of veges. Staff very friendly and serving time was very fast. As regards the prices, they are almost on the average of the ones encountered in other pubs in Canterbury.

10 of us had a great Sunday lunchtime meal at The Parrot. The venue is good...a very old pub in heart of Canterbury with tons of atmosphere - watch out for the sloping floors upstairs!

The Food was great - good choices and beautiful food. I had the Pork which was good and the vegetables were hot and plentiful. All of us had 3 great courses and the service was excellent with cheerful waitresses who looked after us very well.

We travelled from London for this meal and we were not disappointed.
Its not the cheapest pub - but worth every penny. If you are in the area drop in and see what you think - I don't think you will be disappointed.

The pub is very beautiful, it stands to its label of "the oldest pub in Canterbury".
Very good ambience for an evening drink (or few of them).
The beer garden is nice, but it needs a bit more maintenance (cleaning of follen flowers, etc).
They have a good selection of beers (Samuel Adams is our favourite). The food is not impressive. Most of the starters are just OK, and maybe a bit too overpriced. The Bishops Mitre burger was our favourite without any doubts, but it is a real challenge for your stomach.

If going with kids better go to the beer garden

Our first visit here on Friday 28th March and will definitely be going back! A beautiful quaint little place tucked away, full of charm and character. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and well presented. Could not fault the place and am looking forward to going back!
