I stayed here as part of a tour, and although some of my fellow travellers were disappointed with this hotel, I found it to be a perfectly adequate 4 star establishment. Very comfortable beds and thick fluffy towels although there isn't much shelf space in the bathroom. A nice selection of shower gel and shampoo replaced every day. The choice at breakfast was great, especially the berry compote and yoghurt followed by warm croissants and plunger coffee. The eggs Benedict, poached or fried were equally as delicious. If you only want something light or the excellent restaurant is full, you can repair to The Brewery casual restaurant down the lane and have the meal charged to your room. This hotel is right in the middle of the quaint part of Canterbury, close to the cathedral and other good restaurants.

My partner and I could not fault this lovely hotel. On arrival the very polite and friendly receptionist escorted us personally to the car park at the rear of the hotel. Once parked we were offered a hand with our bags. Upon check in we made enquiries into having dinner at the hotel, unfortunately they were fully booked however we didn't book our room until the night before so we fully understood. The receptionist very kindly wrote a list of nearby sought after resturants and made telephone booking enquiries for us. Our room was adequate clean and fresh with all the facilities one needs. The bar and lounge had a great chilled out atmosphere. The bar staff seemed to enjoy their responsibilities of looking after their guests making fab cocktails too. The full English breakfast, continental etc was presented well and tasted great. Once again served with a smile from staff and the room had a relaxed atmosphere. We will definately be going back.

We stayed here early April for 1 night, We had a package deal, Flower for my wife, Campaign cocktail. Dinner and breakfast. Everything was better than described. The staff we found very friendly, and with the package we got a room upgrade. The rooms are quite, spotless, large and well equipped. Perfect location right in the center of Canterbury. Not cheap but worth the price. If you fancy a punt down the river, try the one behind the hotel.
