Excellent hotel in a great location in Canterbury. The bedroom and facilities were both very good. The customer service received from all of the staff was excellent. They were all very professional and had a friendly manner. We also liked the atmosphere of the bar in the evenings. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again ourselves when we next visit Canterbury.

We are not too demanding for stays, however we do expect at least basic maintenance and comfort.
The hotel is located at the main street, location is very central.
Cleaning staff are also doing everything they can, and trying to keep this old hotel clean. But unfortunately there is many of issues we noticed.
First of all the hotel seen refurbishment too many years ago. In the corridor there is some ceiling panels missing, exposing cabling and chunks of dust, flooring heavily work out. The bed is absolutely not comfortable, plus rooms are not soundproof at all. And i'm not talking about loud students outside- it is fine as it is what you have to pay for the central location.
But the couple in the next room (it might been next up, left, righ or elsewhere- it was complete Dolby Surround) had their mating dance all night thorough. we are not a snobs, but it was like they've been in our room with all the details. Obviously it was not their fault, but it is huge con for the hotel as there is some regulations regarding rooms being at least basically soundproof. The shower is bolted down to the wall at 2 mtr height, so if you just want to wash your feet or anything else - be prepared to wash your head as well. Very old bathroom.it was first time i regretted about the money spent on to the stay. .

Dear Andrew G

Thank you for sharing your review of your recent stay with us. Please accept my apologies that our hotel was not presented as perfectly as it normally is. We have had some bad luck with water leaks recently which has meant that we have lost some ceiling tiles in a small part of our corridors and we are waiting for new stock to be delivered. Normal service should be resumed very soon.

I am very sorry that you endured a disturbed nights sleep. Whilst we make every effort to reduce sound from adjoining rooms, this sometimes cannot be guaranteed. I apologise too that the shower was not to your liking. We have a few bedroom bathrooms that do not have the preferred universal hose sytstem, but we are looking to change the last few bathrooms that we have over to that system in the near future.

I thank you again for your review and hope that you will consider staying with us again when next in the area.

With kind regards

Very central hotel, so can walk anywhere in town. Clean and comfortable. Nice choice at breakfast and food was a good standard. Didn't use the car parking, but parked in the multi story by Canterbury West train station. Worked out at £12.50 for 24 hours. 5/10 minute walk away

Great location for the cathedral but only limited hotel parking behind it and even then an additional £18/day. Other hotels on my trip in the area did not charge. Very good restaurant for breakfast and good for dinners if you want something special and are prepared to pay a little more than usual.

Dear idavie335285

Thank you for leaving a review of your recent stay at the ABode Canterbury. I am delighted that on the whole, you had a very enjoyable trip. Car parking is unfortunately in premium demand in the city but our tariff is highly competitive with the local city car parks. I do hope that you will consider us again when next visiting the area.

Very best wishes
