Although we have visited Canterbury a few times, this was our first visit to the Trappiste. A quirky cafe where we had breakfast during our visit. The first time we had the earlybird special which was good value and certainly good portions. The second day we were more adventurous and ordered an eggs benedict which my husband enjoyed and I tried one of their 'famous hashes' which was certainly tasty. The service was attentive and friendly. We did have to wait a while but the food was hot and freshly cooked and so it wasn't a problem. The decor is quirky and could be described as shabby chic. The bakery is a nice touch .. we were tempted to buy some traditional hot cross buns straight from the oven and they were delicious.
We will certainly visit again.
