Description: A traditional, independent city-centre restaurant serving traditional English food - including Afternoon Teas and Sunday Roasts - freshly cooked at sensible prices. We are the nearest restaurant to The Marlowe Theatre and located just one minute from the High Street. The kitchen is open daily from 12 pm to 9 pm and the bar remains open until 11 pm everyday except Sunday, 10.30 pm.

Ate in here as we also received a 10% discount for staying in the hotel. I chose a meat pie, which was lovely and not shy on the meat pieces. However my g/f has a gluten allergy and although we were advised her dish was gluten free, she later became ill that evening because of her allergy. Shame about the miss information, and somewhat spoiled and what could have been a lovely dinner and evening

The food was good I asked for a plain cheese omelette which was very nice with a nice salad & chips. The breakfast we had in the morning was very nice too.

I very much enjoy the Sunday Lunch the hotel serves and visit on a fairly regular basis. I believe it good value and delicious. A number of years ago I stayed overnight here and that experience was also positive.

This place is in a convenient, central part of Canterbury and has nice views of the Marlowe theatre. It has a really nice, informal atmosphere and seves hearty, traditional food. I can thoroughly recommend the lamb shoulder and the stake and ale pie. The staff are very friendly and its not particulary expensive. Definetly worth checking out if you are in Canterbury.
