“EVITA - FANTASTIC SHOW”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

This show was West End quality. Marti Pellow and his Evita (Magdalena) were both amazing, as was the rest of the cast. We loved it and the theatre is fantastic.

“Evita”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2014

Thought show was very good although hard to make out what Evita was singing sometimes. have been to a lot of quality shows at the Marlowe, biggest gripe is no centre aisle which means 15 people often have to get up if someone is late to their seat. Also there is always a terrible crush at the end with everyone trying to get down the one staircase. Dread to think what would happen if someone fell over on the stairs. Wonder how this design passed the planners.

“Show good bad sound”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

Saw Evita here which was excellent. Have seen at at the west end and paid four times as much. Stage scenery was also fantastic. Credit to them. We did find the sound a bit distorted and sometimes couldn't understand what they said. Singing ok as we know the songs.

“Very Present!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2014

Was so relieved to see that this theatre is radically modern - Canterbury is steeped in its past and it is wonderful to see the present so beatifully there . Hope to book a play next time I go down there.
Most of the restaurants in town have a pre-theatre menu on offer and there are lots of hotels around ... so yes to a cultural evening , followed by drinks in the Adobe hotel Bar ???

“Not very user friendly for the older person”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2014

Love the theatre but what happened to its user friendliness? Seats to use before the show are very limited and no imagination seems to be used to add more. Come on start helping out here and put more seats in the foyer. The parking nearby is useless on a Saturday matinee time and us older folk need to sit down after a long walk! The seat numbers are extremely hard to decifer. Whose idea was it to hide them?

The shows are wonderful and I have never been disappointed in 20 years but please make seating etc easier and why only one disability toilet in the entrance? Please give the older clientelle a bit more to make their visit a happier one
