Just spent 2 nights here with husband and another couple,and we were all impressed with the service from all staff.ate in the restaurant Friday night,sea bass,gammon and pork belly all cooked well and extremely tasty.breakfast was hot,flavoursome and again service we'll above the usual chain hotels.the hotel,as mentioned before, is a 10/15 minute walk and array of shops makes a visit to Canterbury we'll worth it.We will definitely revisit Abbots Barton and hope the staff are advised how their efforts are appreciate.well done all.

Room Tip: Ground floor great for anyone with mobility problems,no noise from car park outside

Booked this hotel with a voucher bought through Amazon Local. I wanted somewhere for an early Christmas shopping trip, and could not have chosen better as the hotel is an easy 10 minute stroll into the centre of town.
Check in was fairly straightforward with only a short wait while the duty manager was despatched to check that our room had been cleaned as it was not showing clear on the system. The hotel was full and we had been allocated a standard twin on the first floor. The beds were comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Nice little bathroom with a powerful shower and large tub that filled up very quickly. Well stocked hospitality tray although I would prefer to see mugs rather than the rather small teacups. Nice big flat screen TV well placed for watching from both beds. The only room gripe I had was that neither I or my husband were particularly good at getting the key card to open the door. Not just us either, we heard other nearby guests struggling with the electronic lock on a few occasions.
Breakfast was very good. Continental buffet selection was more than adequate, and the hot buffet though not extensive was of a very good quality. Both days of our stay lunch was entirely unnecessary!
The bar was comfortable but did not have much atmosphere as it was mostly empty when we were in there. A sign on the bar directs you to reception if you require service and on our first night we had to wait a short while as there was a function at the other end of the hotel.
All in all a very nice weekend and I would not hesitate to come again. The shops in Canterbury are very good and being able to go everywhere on foot makes this hotel an ideal choice.

Nice grounds make you feel away from the city but 10 minute walk to everything you want to do in Canterbury. Room very clean and comfortable. Hotel was full and had a 20 minute wait to get to breakfast but otherwise great. Definately staying here again, hard to beat in the area.

Thank you for writing your review with regard to your stay.

The hotel is an ideal location, both for a city and relaxing break. The weekends are still busy with Christmas around the corner, we have visitors for Christmas shopping in Canterbury.

As always at breakfast on a Sunday, all guests seem to come around 9a.m, therefore the 2 hours seem to happen in one.

We are working on offering two breakfast seating times, in order to reduce waiting time. We feel this would benefit our guests and reduce having to wait for a free table.

I do hope you will return to visit our lovely city and stay with us again.

We have just got back from an overnight stay at his hotel and we had a wonderful time. The room was first class, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfast and evening meals were again first class. We would definitely book a short stay at this hotel again and would have no hesitation in recommending it.
