Great stay at The Canterbury Hotel and spa, short break away to enjoy one of my favourite kent cities. Was made to feel very welcome by all the staff and the room had a classic boutique style with all room comforts. 10 min walk to the centre of the city, foundan interesting old underground roman village museum.

Took the opportunity to have a massage, it was called ' Indoceane ' lasted about an hour and a half, totally new experience amazing! Must try. Great value.

Will definately be back .. thank you for a fantastic weekend experience

We booked this hotel based on its Tripadvisor ratings primarily and we were not disappointed with the stay. The staff were very at tentative, the room clean and the facilities well presented. The breakfast was comprehensive and prepared promptly.
A couple of minor criticisms is that we stayed in the suite upstairs, which was up two flights of spiral stairs and a little difficult to navigate as you are getting older. All the pipework to the upstairs seems to go through the walk in robe which was very noisy when water is being used (you could not hear the TV in the bedroom). The shower in the ensuite was extremely noisy with what seemed to be a booster pump belting out spa like noises during a shower and the water flow was less than impressive. I would not spend the extra on the suite again for these reasons. The car park was a little crowded, but we knew this and it was OK during our stay.
Otherwise the hotel was pleasant, our sleep comfortable and we would recommend it to others with these comments.

Room Tip: I would avoid the suite on the top floor and get a room away from the road if you would like to slee...

Couldn't have chosen a better hotel for our break to Canterbury. Close to the centre, comfortable and well appointed, and thoroughly enjoyed the Spa experience we both had! The breakfasts were great, and not having an evening restaurant is not a problem so close to town! Hotel has a closed courtyard car park, and a lovely little garden for when the sun shines. The spa treatments (we tried massage and marine wrap) were very high quality, with a lovely indoor pool to relax in at any time of the year.

Room Tip: The annex above the spa is great as the rooms are well appointed and away from the road.

This lovely little hotel was chosen from the internet because we were looking for a hotel in Cambridge with a pool. We were not disappointed - the male receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were good, clean and well stocked with teas, coffees etc. The bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished and was complete with lots of toiletries including toothbrush !
Breakfast was served by a very enthusiastic waitress, - plenty of choice, and excellent poached eggs each morning ( not all hotels seem to be able to produce a decent poached egg!) The hotel is a short walk from the city. We also visited Chilham , on the breakfast lady's recommendation, which is well worth a visit and only 15minutes by car from the hotel. Should you visit Chilham, you will pass Badgers Hill "alternative" garden centre, tea rooms and animal sanctuary and this is a must to visit for a quirky experience !
We made use of the pool and had a couple of treatments in the Spa - very good value with friendly
therapists.
The car park is small and parking is tight if you have a large vehicle.
I would certainly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the Canterbury area.

We recently stayed at the hotel for two nights while visiting my son at the University of Kent. The Canterbury Hotel was perfect. Walking distance to Canterbury shopping and cathedral, staff that met every request with a smile, clean rooms, great breakfast and a reasonable price. Terrific hotel and staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed every element of this hotel, arriving just as finishing touches being applied to a major refurbishment, I loved the comfortable modern interior design which retains a traditional feel.

This hotel had it all for a perfect base for beautiful Kent walks and exploring the city which is an easy 10 minute walk away.

The room was very comfortable and warm, spotlessly clean, and had generous finishing touches such as good selection of bathroom goodies and tea/coffee/biscuits all nicely presented. Wi-fi is free and worked well.

The hotel has small indoor pool with sauna, great for a relaxing swim, and also has a very comprehensive choice of spa treatments. Super ladies and lovely relaxing massage, highly recommended and brilliant value.

Breakfast was also top quality and served in the charming breakfast room overlooking the courtyard which I imagine will be a fab place to sit in warmer weather.

All the staff (including the decorators!) we're extremely accommodating and eager to please, great customer service and a very friendly atmosphere.

There is a very good Indian restaurant, Jalsha, a short walk (towards the city), fresh cooked and delicious food.

We went on a scenic and not too challenging walk from the picturesque village of Chilham, can recommend the Woolpack pub, cosy with open fire and good traditional menu.

Canterbury itself is a great city to explore with many independent shops and cafes. We didn't have time to visit the Cathedral, but will return next year and will have no hesitation in staying at the Canterbury Hotel again.

We had a fantastic stay 8 night stay at The Canterbury Hotel, The property is recently renovated, the staff were overly friendly and helpful, the breakfast to die for and its all at a very reasonable cost. We have stayed at many high end hotels in Big Cities worldwide and have never received such excellent ,personalized service. The hotel is also well located and only a short walk to the city center. With the new Spa being added I look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: ROOM 11. Best room in the hotel.
