My daughter and I had a fantastic weekend at the Canterbury hotel in Canterbury. The hotel was easy to find being on the A28 Ashford Road within walking distance of the city walls. The first impression of the hotel is a little disappointing being a white painted building that you could easily miss but in actual fact the ‘Canterbury’ is like a “Tardis” version of a hotel and as you pass through the courtyard gates you realise that there is parking for 12 cars, a pool and garden plus another accommodation block!

All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and on arrival we were given us a map of the city and a list of restaurants. The cheery receptionist was able to give us details and directions to places we wanted to visit (far more knowledgeable that the Tourist information office in the city). There was nothing that we can complain about and the highlights of our stay were the swimming pool and the breakfasts.
The pool area and the sauna had obviously been recently updated and were spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were delicious and freshly prepared to order, so the food was piping hot.

We have never before been to a hotel where every member of the staff was so helpful and everything we asked of them was done immediately and courteously. We would thoroughly recommend this as an ideal place to stay when visiting North Kent or as an overnight stop before a channel crossing.

Room Tip: If like us you want to swim as often as possible then ask for a room in the annex then all you have to do is put on the bath robe provided by the hotel its just seconds to the pool.

We stayed at The Canterbury Hotel for two nights in a family room. We were very impressed with the size of the room and it's facilities and cleanliness. All staff were very polite and pleasant! Nothing too much trouble. The spa and swimming facilities were also lovely. Food really nice too. On the whole a thoroughly lovely place to stay, short drive to city centre. Would not hesitate to return to this lovely hotel.

We had a great 4 day stay at the Canterbury hotel with our kids and 2 dogs. Extremely courteous and amazingly helpful staff who helped out whenever we needed any assistance day or night.

Hearty breakfasts to help jumpstart the day and a good location to get to city centre (a 2 min drive to the parking lots in historic, central Canterbury).

Small but nice clean indoor pool which was a hit with the kids and a charming little garden too. Did not get to use the spa, but it looked quite good.

Good: very helpful staff; quality room furniture and fittings; helpful staff, excellent pool; great value. Less good: our room was uncomfortably hot, maybe because we were directly over the pool and we could only tackle this by opening the window to a noisy road; significant walk to the city centre; strange, awkward and unnecessarily complex arrangements for "booking" breakfast and getting in and out after hours.

I booked into the Canterbury Hotel for 1 night as was in the area on business. The room was perfect, very spacious and met all the requirements i.e comfy bed, WIFI etc. I managed to get booked into the spa for a hot stone massage after a busy day out which was VERY relaxing and used the indoor pool and sauna. The breakfast was delicious - full English. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Overall a very pleasant experience and I would recommend!

Room Tip: I had room number 14 which had a 4 poster bed and a super roll top bath!
