Had a glass of house red wine and selection of chocolates there - combination was amazing!! just what you need after not-that-good dinner elsewhere. Service was excellent, young girl behind the bar knew the chocolates very well and I've got 8 of them for ~4 pounds! From now on this will be my no1 place in Canterbury.

Chocolate cafe is in a great location only100m's from the cathedral. Very pleasantly decorated and a nice spot for everyones favourite hobby.... People watching.
The cafe has got the right ideas but needs better execution, Milky Cappuccino's are a no no especially in such a heavily populated coffee shop city. I must say tho the olives are probably some of the best I've ever tasted.
All in all an average cafe that needs work on an hopefully won't rely on it's location to be successful.

I had walked past this new cafe several times and decided to visit it with a friend. The interior was very glamourous and the staff we're very attentive, but when we saw the price of the truffles in the display case we we're shocked. £3.95 for one chocolate? Eventually we decided to stay and have coffee and each ordered the melted chocolate. We were sorely dissappointed at the tiny portion of melted chocolate that arrived, and how it closely resembled in taste and texture the oil filled chocolate you buy to put in chocolate fountains, a suspicion of ours that grew as the chocolate cooled but didn't solidify. For the price we paid we did not feel we recieved either quantity or quality. The justification for charging so much is that the chocolate is from belgium, but is that a valid justification, or just a label to pull over unwitting customers eyes?

A group of 4 of us went to the chocolate café on Saturday and ended up spending the afternoon there. The location is excellent with the cathedral spires in view and the atmosphere is relaxed with a continental feel. We sat outside in the sun, chatting, drinking, eating and watching the world go by. The wine was very reasonably priced at just over £11 for a bottle of rose and we could not fault the service. The strawberries in chocolate were delicious and very fresh with amazing chocolate; we also had a platter with breads and antipasti's to share that was beautifully presented and again very fresh. A friend wanted a slice of cheesecake but they had run out of the flavour she wanted so she was offered an alternative that was made with parmesan cheese and unfortunately it was not to her taste which we reported back to the waiter and we were not charged. A very pleasant afternoon spent in a gem of place and we will defiantly be regulars.
