Visited this restaurant several times over the weekend. Our first visit was excellent. Food and drink were top notch - particularly the strawberries dipped in chocolate. But after that first visit downhill. Went there on the Saturday were we told to sit upstairs. Took our order after about 15 minutes then waited a further 25 mins. We only ordered drinks and when they came i am sure they forgot the alchol . They seem to concentrate on people sitting outside and on the ground floor those upstairs are ignored. Really put us off after that. Shame because on both occasions when we sat outside the service was excellent. Need to sort out their act.

We always try to head here after a meal or late at night. It has a fantastic atmosphere, the service is friendly and the menu is plentiful. There are lots drinks to choose from, as well as a huge range of sweet and savoury options.

If you're a couple like us, looking for somewhere a little different to chill out for a few hours, then the chocolate cafe is one of our favourites.

They have a fabulous selection of food available - we can highly recommend the platters of meats, cheeses and breads. In fact, their breads are some of the best we've tasted! The selection of beers and wines are great too, which we made short work of!

The atmosphere is very chilled, with people coming and going, some finding a corner to sit and read with a coffee, and people like us, getting tipsy with some great food and chocolate! Try the chocolate dipped strawberries - a real treat.

We're not normal very judgemental (OK, so maybe we are) but we wouldn't advise this place to go with young children. When we were there, a family of five arrived, with three young children - who generally screamed and shouted - while they ordered one latte between them. Just seemed to spoilt the atmosphere of the place.

Couldn't recommend more highly. We're hoping to get down there when they've got some live music on some time soon.

It's probably a silly thing but it irritates the life out of me that the Chocolate Café doesn't have anything except cranberry jam when it comes to things to spread on toast. Otherwise this would probably be amongst my favourite breakfast venues to sit and watch the world go by first thing in the morning.

It has quite a bohemian feel, and has soaked up the arty types who used to people Coffee and Corks, a coffee shop that used to live just down Palace St.

Great place to sit and tuck your feet up, to read a book. If the music isn't to your taste, sure headphones will sort that out.
