Called in yesterday for a drink with friends. I had Pimms which was perfect and one friend had a milkshake and pancake. He was in heaven and will definitely go back. The other friend had a cup of tea which was fantastic - even to look at! It was fresh tea and came with a timer so that you could leave the tea in the cup for the optimum time. There were little touches that made the whole experience really special.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We will be back!

It looks nice from the outside and the inside, the seating on the ground floor is great (I didn't go upstairs) and they have and the atmosphere is good. The seating outside seems nice too.

I only had a double espresso and a bottle of water (which came to £3.80 or something) so I can;t comment on the food. The coffee was bland and the service was poor. No one smiled and said hello. No one said thank you. Maybe because some of the staff are students and they had exams and dissertations to write but that's not an excuse for being impolite. There are plenty of cafes where the staff are all university students and they are nice and polite. And from the ground floor the wifi was hella slow, that is unacceptable. I stopped trying after a while.

It's not a place I would go to again or recommend. It's a shame, it would seem like a nice place for a student to work, but it was disappointing.

I've been here four or five times now, sometimes with friends, sometimes with family. I can't complain about the service, it is always brilliant, so perhaps some of the other reviewers went on a bad day.

I always get the banana milkshake and belgian chocolate waffle. Both are delicious and the waffle is amazing value for money. They don't have a huge selection of savoury snacks but it's really the sweet food I visit for! The focaccia is great though- essentially a posh toastie and quite filling actually.

If you want savoury food, you should go elsewhere. If you want meals, go elsewhere. If what you fancy is a drink and something VERY chocolatey, this is the cafe for you. I don't have a massive sweet tooth at all but I could very happily eat here once a week!

This is a lovely cafe to linger and chat in. Great location and atmosphere and a fine selection of teas on offer. Not to mention the chocolates! But some things are just plain weird. Full fat milk, skimmed milk are no problem. But they can't manage semi-skimmed milk. And then I tried a de-caff coffee – it was so bitter, that I struggled to drink it.
