“All time favourite gone wrong ”
Reviewed 18 February 2014 via mobile

Has always been a favourite if mine , finally convinced some friends to come along with us but turned out to be such a disappointment ! Our coffees along with our sandwiches took 15 minutes to arrive and it wasnt even that busy! The owner tried to help out but kept taking the foo to all the wrong tables . For a fiver I'd expect the bread to be at least fresh and the teaspoons clean !! The staff should wear gloves while handling the sandwiches as well . They take payment, clear tables , make coffee and make the good without once washing their hands. Disappointing

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 19 January 2014

We ordered a Breakfast Bap and a bacon Bap. The only item freshly cooked was the egg. The bacon was dry tasteless and overcooked. The sausage was much the same. The portions are much smaller that they were when they first opened. Why have such a small coffee when the most expensive item is the ground coffee so topping it up with water to make a larger cup cost very little.
Sadly will not go again as the choice of places to eat and have a coffee in Canterbury are forever growing !!

“Nice Lunch but Overpriced”
Reviewed 13 January 2014

After a shopping spree in Canterbury my brother and I fancied a coffee and a snack but didn't want to go into one of the usual coffee shops. Brunch is situated halfway down the high street. We ordered at the counter a breakfast bap each with a latte then walked upstairs to the rustic seating area. The chairs were comfortable tub chairs with a mixture of different tables. The service was a little slow but we were in no hurry so wasn't that bothered. The breakfast bap was very nice but overpriced as was the latte.
I would return again even tho it's overpriced but it is in Canterbury High Street what would you expect.

Hope this helps

“under par”
Reviewed 8 January 2014

It did seem to have a lot of promise. I really liked to see the photos of the suppliers on the walls and the upstairs seating was nice however and, unfortunately, there is a however: one of the staff was friendly and one wasn't, the food was overpriced my all day breakfast bap would've been reasonable at £4 but £5.50 was excessive.
Like a previous reviewer, we found that the upstairs tables weren't being cleared as quick as they could ( I didn't time it, but one table was dirty all the time we were there). If they see someone leave then that must mean that a table needs clearing!
It was OK but only just OK.

“Awful”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

Awful. Dirty plates left of tables for 20 minutes on several tables. Waitress swept large chunks of food onto the floor flying over us to clean the table as we sat in bewildered - the mice will be happy. Cold cappuccinos, no spoons, weak tea, New Yorker sandwich soggy made with cheap bread, cake at £2.75 was a tiny portion, breakfast bap cold, vegetarian Panini dry, children's toastie thin like cardboard. The bottle of coke was the only thing that was OK. How can you get making a sandwich wrong at over a fiver each? Put you money down the drain outside your stomach will feel better for it.
