Small, but comfy and very clean room. Central location for town for visiting all the attractions Canterbury has to offer.

Ample, value for money parking. This Travelodge benefits from a bar and a cafe within the hotel.

Staff very friendly and helpful.

Just over the main road from Canterbury city centre, this is a very well located hotel. Top tip, if you don't like the underpass, turn right on the main road and there's a pedestrian crossing. Small but comfortable room, clean, comfortable bed, warm duvet and good pillows. Bathroom was small but not teeny and everything worked well. As with all travelodges there's no frills or fuss so you get what you pay for. Thought it was good value for a city centre hotel in Canterbury and would stay there again. Very helpful reception and cafe/bar staff - thank you.

Stayed here last weekend while visiting my wife's daughter who is a student in Canterbury.
The hotel is above average for s travel lodge. The room was very clean and spacious and nicely done out. It was also nice and quiet.
The building itself is tidy and very well located. There was no trouble parking st the hotel and 5 pounds for 24 hours is very reasonable.
The staff were extremely pleasant and very very helpful. We asked for some plastic cups to take to my step daughter's house as we had bought champaign for her 21st. The male receptionist immediately went off to get some and the female receptionist offered to lend us her own champaign flutes.
Would recommend if you need a budget room for a night or two.

Excellent travelodge, spotlessly clean and fantastic location for the centre of Canterbury. I'm confused by some of the reviews below - Travelodge is a no frills hotel, and don't provide the non essential extras which many people don't need.

The only down point was the fact that the website advertised most rooms having baths, but in actual fact it's only some of the family rooms which do.

I'd definitely return if in Canterbury again.

Clean and comfortable bed room. The building is set in an old hotel. It has been recently renovated and the interior was great. The windows did a bit of tlc in oir room. You couldn't put modern pvc it would ruin the look so think they need specialist to repair them. The extra door locks from the reception to bedrooms was a little different but reasuring. Had breakfast which was good. Great nights sleep and would stay again.

Not a nice hotel. Stayed here for 5 nights with my mother room was tiny. No wardrobe and the bathroom was tiny too. Everything is extra. Food isn't bad and drinks are cheap. Town centre is only across the road so is central. Only hotel in Canterbury that isn't ridiculously priced although premier inn coming next year to the area. Try avoid unless you get it at a cheap price.

The room and shower room (no bath) were spotlessly clean as were the bed-linen and towels. However the room was very spartan with only a single plastic chair at the very thin desk as the only seating other than the bed. (No sofa as illustrated in the photographs on this site.) There was nowhere to put a suitcase other than on the bed and only a hanging rail and a single shelf above it to put clothes. Breakfast is Extra. Parking is Extra. Apart from a very thin sliver of soap there are no toiletries. There is a small kettle with 2 tea bags, 2 coffee sachets and 2 decaf coffee sachets together with 2 milk pots and sugar/sweetner.

The location of the hotel is very convenient for walking to the Cathedral and shops, but is a little difficult to find if you are negotiating the Canterbury traffic which can be horrendous around the inner ringroad. It was generally quiet except for some passing late-night revellers. The only member of staff I encountered was very polite and helpful.

This hotel is ideal for a flying visit, but for anything more than just a single night I would suggest looking elsewhere for a room that you want to be more than just somewhere to sleep.
