I've stayed in many hotels and B&Bs in Canterbury over the past 3 years since my son went to uni there, and a last, we found the perfect place! I was persuaded by the glowing reviews I'd read and it did not disappoint. Warm, cosy, charming, we had a wonderful breakfast, and the owners took such good care of us! It was nice to meet the other residents, and linger over coffee chatting. Very relaxed. Will definitely return. We would not want to go anywhere else now.

When you're doing sightseeing in London and you need some rest you should visit this B&B in Canterbury. The owners give you a warm welcome and give you nice tips on what you should visit in the town. Also, the home cooked, breakfast is better then in most hotels.

Lovely bed and breakfast very convenient to visit Canterbury. It's true that the place is old but it is really neat and clean and doesn't feel old-fashion in a bad way!
We really loved it and found it very calm and relaxing although our room was facing the cathedral. I would not recommend it to people who have trouble climbing the stairs though.
The couple who owns the place is extremely helpful and nice.

The most charming, feel-like-home stay of our ten days tour in England. Now at home, everytime we think about our holyday, this B&B is the first image coming on mind. The owners are very, very nice people, they help us in any way, the room is exactly how you image when you think at a typical british interior, clean and comfortable, the breakfast an excellent and abundant english breakfast. The location is a quiet road at less then a minute from every intereting point, surrounded by pubs and lovely places to eat.
We suggest everyone this B&B and their owner Mazi and Mamad.

Location very central for a couple of day's sightseeing and on a quiet street (bar a few Saturday night pub groups on their way through). In a ye olde worldy tudor house with charming creaky floorboards and old fashioned decor.
Actual room pretty basic and without any extras, shared (enormous!) bathroom with a bath with an oddly designed shower head above the taps which only reached up to chest height making showering very difficult with added frustrations of weak water pressure and changeable levels of hot water.
Welcome was very friendly generally from the owners who very charmingly served breakfast although actual full english was pretty mediocre taste-wise and in terms of the quality of ingredients compared with others locally which focus on tasty local organic produce.
Overall a bit disappointing and not the same experience as some of the reviews on here, but fine for a temporary, convenient base to explore from as you spend most of you time out and about wandering around!

Walking into the Tudor House is like coming back home! Mamad and Mazi are the most caring hosts, and they do everything they can to make their guests feel comfortable. Mamad carried all of our bags up, made dinner reservations for us, and even ran after us as we were leaving because one of our girls had left her coat in her room. The full English breakfast is delicious and cooked to order each morning. The house is perfectly located inside the ancient walled city in walking distance to the cathedral, restaurants, shops, and the two rail stations. What more could a traveler want? For me, I will always be coming home to the Tudor House--the Best little guest house on Best Lane!!

I made a last minute booking for my partner, myself and three friends, and the Tudor House just happened to have available rooms matching our requirements.
I obviously checked the reviews to make sure it was an ok place, but even though the reviews were generally very good, I must say we were pleasantly surprised. The old building (as the name accurately suggests) is incredibly atmospheric, to the point that you can easily imagine the people who have resided there over the centuries. I also find it difficult to see what more the proprietors could possibly have done to make us feel welcome and enjoy our stay. Breakfast was great, with regards to both taste and portion, and included the best cup of coffe I've had in ages.
Location wise it is also perfect. It's on a quiet lane just off the high street and a couple of minutes walk from the cathedral.
If you are after a slick and modern hotel, this will not be for you, but if you like your accommodation to have a bit of atmosphere, soul and a friendly personal touch, then I can not see how you could possibly go wrong with the Tudor House.
