stayed here a couple of times now, rooms are clean and tidy, and the rates are excellent considering it is so close to the city centre.Landlady is very friendly,no problems staying here whatsoever. On reading the other reviews on how nice the breakfasts are I must try and get up early enough to sample it!

We travelled down from Manchester to bring our grandaughter's extra baggage to uni and spent a night at ERSHAM LODGE. Elaine & David were most welcoming and made our stay very pleasant. We wanted a pub with grub for an evening meal and Elaine suggested the THOMAS BECKET just a few minutes away, it turned out to be ideal, food & service were excellent, not too expensive and the atmosphere was lively but not too noisy. The breakfast at the hotel was first class, everything you need for a full english or tailored to your own tastes. The free off-road parking is a real bonus and we will certainly stay here again when we next visit our grandaughter.
Incidentally, you only need to ring the doorbell once when you first arrive, it taks Elaine a minute or two to reach the front door as she is usually in the back of the house.
Enjoy your stay, we did!

We stayed for one night on our way to France. We have three children and always have great problems in finding a hotel that will accomodate us all in one room. . However Ersham lodge was an exception and was great value for money as we would have had to pay twice the price for two rooms anywhere else.. We had a large room with a double, two singles and an extra bed. The ensuite was modern and clean with a great shower. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice including fruit. The location was great - just a few minutes walk in to the centre of Canterbury and plenty of restaurants nearby. We have a large 4x4 and had no problems parking in the carpark.

Me and some friends booked the hotel for one night.
We where welcomed by the owner, a very friendly lady.
They asked us what we wanted for breakfast and showed us the rooms. The rooms where small and rather outdated, but most important: clean. the beds where good to sleep in.
The hotel is perfect to go into town, just a short walk and you're in the centre.
The breakfast the next morning was very good, everything we needed was there and more.
The parking space is small.

We traveled to Canterbury with no idea where to stay. Ersham Lodge was recommended by the Tourist Office and it was perfect. Elaine and David went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and everything was working. We were served an English Breakfast and we feel that they made the visit to Canterbury extra special.

Our family stayed for 1 night at Ersham Lodge. It was for an extra special occasion that turned out to be well - organised. Elaine (owner) was extremely helpful and accomodating right from the beginning (from booking) to the end of our stay. Her advice on booking evening meal for our large group was well appreciated as well.
Veg cooked breakfast on Sunday was wonderful with lots of fruit and cereals to choose from, set in a delightful dining room (served by the owners Elaine and her husband, David).
The City Centre was about 10 minutes walk (as we had elderly people, the walk took slightly longer).
Recommended for a short stay at this hotel.
The only minor down side was that the rooms were warm (looked like radiators were on during the night) and car park a bit tight.

Extremely pleasant stay in Canterbury. The staff (owner and wife) could not do enough for us and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The front room (complete with four poster) was great.
