I received a relatively odd reception from the host: on request of the parking voucher, I was instructed despite slight objection, to move our parked car approximately 20 m to a position which almost blocked the narrow road the B&B is located on, in order to deliver our bags. I did interject twice that our bags weren’t heavy and we’d just carry them from the car park, yet this was met with an apology, and the repeat previous instruction. Given that he’d apologised, I agreed to do as he asked, thinking this must be his regimented procedure for all guests. However, a couple turned up shortly after us, who did not receive the same unusual instruction, and a parking voucher was given without question - it was all a bit bizarre.
Yet, despite this odd behaviour, our stay at the White House was pleasant. Our room (number 7) was clean and the bed was comfy. The room did not reflect the picture given on the website – I assume this must need updating. There was lots of choice for breakfast, and it was delicious. The B&B is ideally situated – it takes literally less than a minute to walk to the high street. The location and cleanliness of the B&B are the best features.More
