We stayed in room 7 at the White House. I have nothing but praise to offer to the owners. Adrian greeted us with a warm welcome when we arrived. The hotel is situated directly in the city centre, and this was our first visit to Canterbury, so we were grateful for the central location and easy access to the city.
The room was very clean and the building is beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful breakfast which set us up for our day out in whitstable for the yearly oyster festival.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and if we return to Canterbury, would definitely book the White House again.

We stayed for two nights in room 1 and found it exactly as described with a huge, comfortable bed and a lovely en-suite bathroom. This room overlooks the theatre and was peaceful and quiet. The property is very elegant and ideally situated in the heart of things in Canterbury. Adrian does everything to ensure your stay is pleasant. Breakfast menu options were good. The cooked breakfast was delicious and of good quality. All in all a lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back may be quieter but the street was quiet anyway when we returned from nights out an...

Our fourth and last visit for a while as we came to see our daughter graduate. Each visit has been 1st class and Adrian the perfect host, nothing ever too much trouble. We were up early both mornings and away before breakfast, which was a shame as Adrian always serves up a good and sensible sized breakfast. We stayed in Room 1 on 3 out the 4 occasions and though it is slightly moore expensive worth the extra as it is a very good size bedroom with lovely en-suite shower room. Location of the White House is superb just a stones throw from the high street and very close to the Marlow theatre. Car Park is very close and not normally a problem to get a space and Adrian will give you a voucher for £6.00 which gives you 24 hours.
Really sorry we won't have a reason to go back in the near future, but when we do we know exactly where we shall stay!

Room Tip: Choose room 1 if you can, worth the extra £10

Adrian threw such a wobbly when we arrived (because we'd parked in the car park) that if I hadn't already paid for a night's accommodation then I would have walked out and not returned. During our stay I noticed that if you don't do things Adrian's way then you're wrong.
Our bedroom and en-suite shower room were on the small side but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was fine, with a choice of cereals and cooked options.
The best thing about The White House is its location so close to the city centre.

We booked our accommodation at the White House after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. First I want to say that the communication with Adrian was excellent through emails. Also, we did arrive early in Canterbury by train and Adrian was kind enough to take us in earlier than the check-in time. The location is very convenient to everything in town. The room was clean and breakfast very good. There is no parking and you must get a parking voucher from Adrian for 6 pounds and park a small block away if you have a car. The only negative thing I can say is that we were there two nights and the first night (Monday) we were woken out of our sleep by loud drunken kids in the street (the windows were not soundproof). The second night the same thing happened and went on and on so we work Adrian up and told him we couldn't sleep. He went outside and told the kids to move on. This was embarrassing for us to do but we were so tired and the kids seemed to like to park themselves close to the building and goof off. Not really Adrian's fault. If I could say one more thing it would have been nice to meet Sharon, the lady of the house as well. We never saw her.

Room Tip: As for a room not facing the street.

We used trip advisor to book both our B&B and evening meal for our overnight stay in Canterbury and were very pleased that the odd negative review for this establishment did not put us off. We were greeted by our host Adrian and deliberately emailed ahead to arrange an early meet and issue of car park tickets to explore the city, not expecting our room to be available. Pleasingly it was and we were treated to a birthday (mine) tipple by our host, a lovely touch. The room was nicely decorated although maybe on the smaller side for some people. Our host was constantly cheery and helpful, guiding should you wish through what the city has to offer.

We had no trouble locating the property which was extremely close to the central thoroughfare of Canterbury. If you are attending the Marlow Theatre one can throw a stone to the front door.

A very good nights sleep had in a very comfy bed. If you are used to a very quiet area request a room to the rear. It was not heard by us when sleeping but we stayed in hot summer and in the evening revellers are in the nearby streets.

Excellent breakfast Full English and Continental available.

Not the cheapest of stays but this is reflected in the quality of the property - regency period well decorated town house and the city centre location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We overnighted at this BnB on our way to Dover.
Upon arriving in Canterbury by car we struggled to get to the front door of this BnB because of the convoluted one way and blocked off streets in the centre of Canterbury. All that behind us, Adrian who was a perfect host, greeted us, helped with the luggage and showed us where to park the car in a neighbouring car park. The White House is a perfect stay, centrally located to cover the city on foot. Room was clean and adequate. Breakfast was virtually whatever we desired and delicious. Would highly recommend this BnB, not the cheapest but good value.

Room Tip: Away from street facing may be better, on a Friday or Saturday night.
