As far as city locations go this is hard to beat. The rooms are small, the hotel has no particular charm or romantic appeal, but it is clean, contempory and quite neat. If you want to drop anchor in a lovely city with an abundance of history, stroll into town and have a special time, this is the place for you. There are some nice touches, such as the free entry to the Cathedral, the discounts from local restaurants, a good breakfast, and a delightful little garden where tea can be taken in splendid seclusion. But staying more than a few nights might get a bit wearing. We found the rooms (two stays in a year) small and airlesss, and the mattresses do have a dreadful plastic incontinency cover on them which does not help create a good night's sleep. Would we go back again? Hmm, we spotted a new travel lodge just on the outside of the walls and this might offer better value for money.
