It's a rare opportunity to stay within cathedral grounds (when you're not a monastic that is), and there's no better opportunity to do so than at the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge.

The rooms are lovely, the views of the cathedral and the grounds are beautiful, and the service and breakfast is excellent. The rooms are very affordable when you consider that the rate includes unlimited entry into the cathedral and the grounds (do go for a cathedral tour).

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for your feedback. We are indeed fortunate to be located just a few metres from Canterbury Cathedral, with unlimited access for our guests. As well as guided tours, our Visits departments offer daily complimentary "short talks" on points of interest in and around the Cathedral. We do recommend joining one of these to further enhance a visit.

Kind regards

After nearly a year of planning, what an amazing party we had. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything went smoothly on the night. The food was tasty and plentiful. The events team worked hard to make everything perfect.
Those of us who stayed, found the hotel rooms clean, comfortable and with the Cathedral views a very pleasant place to stay. The breakfasts were simply delicious with lots of choice.
The location is amazing. Right in the city centre, easy walking distance to so many attractions.
On the whole, an ace weekend spent with friends and family. Thank you to the lodge for a wonderful weekend.

I stayed here for a one night visit and cannot heap enough praise on the staff,

The room was spotless, comfortable and stunning view

Breakfast was better than a 5 star hotel that we recently stayed in, everything was excellent quality and service was great.

Can’t wait to return

Room tip: This is a wonderful place to stay in Canterbury, in the cathedral grounds, just be aware that it only does breakfast, no restaurant or bar.

We stayed one night in one of the rooms in the adjacent building, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice clean bedroom with a big ensuite bathroom, and right next to the cathedral, couldn't have asked for more.
Delicious breakfast too cooked to order!
