My wife and I are just back from a short trip over the Channel.
We were looking for a typical British B&B in Dover and no other place could have met our expectations further.
The owners are nice, helpful and considerate.
Diane had answered all our questions even before we had asked any !
Good value for the money.

I would definitely recommend this place.

My girl friend and I are international students, which means that we still have a little space for improving our English. Also, before we got Dover, we had no idea how to go to those famous sites. But none of above caused any problem when we met Diane and Barry! Both of them are friendly and kind. They explain how to get to the Castle and the cliff with every considerate details. Moreover, they checked the weather and suggested us how to run our plan. No, they almost planned the whole trip for us! Luckily we had met them!! This is a really nice place to stay over night. Btw, they plant their own vegetables and you will know once you eat you breakfast! You won't be regret.

Room Tip: Book this place as soon as possible!!

We're so glad this lovely young couple enjoyed their brief but busy stay - they certainly managed to squeeze in a lot! Our aim is to help ensure the very best is made of the time spent here in Dover, Kent so we're more than happy to check the weather, put various pointers on a map, or make suggestions as to which day would be best for an exhilerating walk on the wonderful White Cliffs of Dover or whether actually, a day spent at Dover Castle or nearby Canterbury might be wise - depending on BBC weather report! We're also happy to recommend great places to eat here in town - none more than 10 miutes or so walk from the guest house - we understand that with limited time, it's really important to maximise every opportunity for a good experience. We 're only 5 or 10 minutes walk from bus & train stations and we have luggage storage facility here which means that even after check-out at 10 am, our guests can still make the most of their time in the area - that'swhat this young couple did, and that's why they were able to see and do so much!

For those of our guests that find speaking English a little difficult (or even very difficult) - we are happy to slow the conversation right down - with a smile and a little effort on both sides we're generally able to find a way to communicate and that can make all the difference!

Di and Barry are a lovely couple running this pretty well-kept guesthouse. Both polite, chatty and so helpful. I had the single room with a separate bathroom stocked with toiletries and i was furnished with slippers & dressing gown for the short hop down the hall.

This is a perfect location if you're going to Calais (15 mins walk to the port) and about the same to the Castle. And the town centre is just across the road.

Our room was spotlessly clean, cozy and well appointed.
Di and Barry couldn't have been more attentive. The breakfast was superb and they keep a beautiful garden.
I couldn't fault anything about our stay!!

Just got back from our first time at a B&B and the UK. It was terrific! Barry and Di make you feel like family. The three of us were so comfortable. We stayed 6 nights and could not have been more pleased. Our room had a view of Dover Castle and breakfast every morning was something to look forward to. It was a great start to the day! We would recommend Maison Dieu and stay there again. They are so helpful with directions and tips to siteseeing in the area and London. Our room was clean and very nice. We really had an excellent time!!!!

We loved the way this lovely family used us as a base to explore the local area and to make a couple of day trips into London - it's just so do-able from here! Their careful pre planning of their time enabled them to make the most of every day and it was great to hear of their experiences!

We particluarly enjoy our 'long haul' visitors - helping to ensure our house guests get the very best out their stay and get to see the great sites such as Dover Castle and the fabulous 'White Cliffs of Dover' is all part of what we do - and long may it continue!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments!

What's not to like? The proprietors Diane and Barry are absolutely lovely people! They greeted us at the door upon arrival and immediately offered us tea! Diane provided incredible directions to Maison Dieu from Heathrow so we arrived un-frazzled. She also recommended two great places for dinner and a wonderful place for me to get my nails done! ;-) Our room was extremely clean and charmingly decorated. Breakfasts were large, filling, and delicious! There was plenty of room for the four of us in our quad. Diane was kind enough to let me use her telephone twice to make arrangements with Sea Safari and Coastal Cars. Barry handled our luggage like a champ! Every one of their recommendations, as well as their directions was spot on! We had such a great 2 days in Dover and we thank Barry and Diane for making our stay so special! We only have positive things to say about Maison Dieu B&B and the superb hosts Barry and Diane.

Room Tip: Our room faced the back and we had an excellent view of Dover Castle!

Had a lovely stay here for two nights earlier this month. The rooms are beautifully clean and well appointed with lots of nice little extra touches. Beds are super comfy too.
Breakfast has to be pre-ordered, but this means they can offer a fantastic range of items and have it all ready & waiting for you when you get up :-)
The only downside for swimmers is that there is not a lot of space in the single rooms for all your kit, especially when it is wet - but that's no different anywhere else I guess!

It's great to know that the choices on our Breakfast Menu go down so well - with a good variety of choices we hope to offer something for everyone!

The Small Ensuite Single has,as the name suggests everything you might need but with limited space and we do stress that point upon booking - however, it's perfectly adequate for a few nights or a 1 night stopover and we do have ground floor storage for any luggage etc that is not required in the room. This facility is offered to all our guests, but has proved very useful over the years for those that for Charity Aspire to swim the English Channel and we are delighted to be able to host more intrepid souls this year - we wish them all the very best of luck!
