“Very excellent accomodation”
Reviewed 18 September 2012

We stayed at Churchill House for one night . It was one of the best acoomodations we had during our holidays in England and Wales. The room was very big and looked like a sleeping room in a castle (look at the photo!). The bathroom was excellent and very clean. In the morning we got a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit , fried eggs, fresh sausages an mushrooms. The hosts were friendly and we had interesting conversations. For the next time we stay in Dover we´ll book this accomodation again.

Great place to stay! Rooms are beautiful and very cosy, we had one double and 1 single room, and both were fab. My fiancee and I had a beautiful 4 poster bed which was a real treat. Owners are very welcoming and make a great english brekkie. Highly recommended!

This is the third time we have stayed at the Churchill Guest House and we will keep coming back. Each room is immaculate as well as being unique and tastefully furnished. Everything in the room is in perfect working order, and if it isn't, the matter will quickly be taken care of. It is centrally located, within walking distance of the town But the best part of staying at the Churchill is its hosts, Alastair and Betty. They serve a wonderful English Breakfast along with fresh fruit and cereal. While Betty is making breakfast, Alastair serves the guests and keeps the conversation lively. The guests come from many different countries and backgrounds and have included guests on a holiday as well as Channel Swimmers and their families. Alastair and Betty are very accommodating hosts and will do everything from telling their guests about special events in Dover, to helping a forgetful guest (me) locate a lost wallet. We are looking forward to our next stay at the Churchill Guest House.

We spent just one night here before crossing the channel .Just requiring a quick stop over we were pleasantly suprised as soon as we entered the Victoria suite which was spotless ,roomy and furnished in a more interesting style than the average . The power shower was the best Ive come accross in many a hotel visit and our breakfast cooked by Betty and served by Alistair was superb . Our only regret was we were only there for one night .If you are looking for a pre or post channel stopover or a longer stay this place is to be recommended .

Alastair and Betty look after their guests as if you are part of their family. Staying at the Churchill is like being in a warm, comfortable home. The house is a completely renovated listed building and the rooms have been tastefully furnished in keeping with the style and age of the house. Rooms are large, spotless and well equipped, with sofa, large wall mounted TV, fantastically comfortable beds and refreshment tray. One particularly thoughful little touch is the provision of fresh milk in the fridge in the guests' lounge, in case the UHT milk on your tray is not to your liking. Wifi is intermittent but that's a minor point.
Breakfasts are to die for, taken in the cosy breakfast room in their other house just across the carpark. Nothing is too much trouble for Alastair and Betty, even down to taking delivery of a parcel and drilling holes in plastic beakers to be used on a channel swim. We were very happy there and wil be staying again.

Room Tip: All rooms are large and well equipped, so it doesn't matter which one you have. Loved Winston on...

A quick trip to the cliffs of Dover for us last weekend. We were fortunate to find this gem! We prefer B&B's when traveling, and when we find places like Churchill House, it reinforces that preference. The room was spacious, very clean, very comfortable, easily accessible, and it is within walking distance of the town center, Dover Castle, and the White Cliffs. We had a downstairs, street side room, yet there was no traffic or street noise, very quiet and restful. The bed was quite comfortable, and the room had a small sofa or love seat for relaxing in front of a big screen TV or for nestling in and reading or napping.
Breakfast was served in a separate house, just out the back of Churchill not a problem and just a few short steps away.
Alastair & Betty Dimech welcoming and gracious hosts. They work hard to ensure their guests feel welcome and are comfortable, and they work hard to maintain a well established reputation. They are also very accommodating, allowing us to use their car park for as long as we needed after checking out.
This will be the first place we call when returning to Dover - I can only hope they have a vacancy. Thanks, Alistair for a great stay!

Room Tip: Contact Alastair and ask - he will not mislead you, or misrepresent the available rooms.
