Wonderful rooms in a handy location if you want to visit the castle or nave a trail over the cliffs. Alistair is a very nice guy and his wife Elizabeth is a fine cook! Enjoyed very much their company and the Clementine room was a lovely place to stay!

A typical and very charming bedroom and house but what made it special is the care that the two host gave us. Alistair was very pleasant and real foodie too. It is located very close to the castle and of the town center. I definitely recommend it

My wife had booked a surprise 1st year anniversary weekend away in Dover and we stayed here at Churchill guest House. My wife had spoken to the owners before hand to assured we had parking as we drove from Norfolk. The owners couldn't do enough for us. We stayed in the Victoria room and it was lovely. Fantastic room, clean, well kept and lovely, comfortable double bed. Really nice en-suite too with complementary soaps. The room was great to come back to after a busy hot day at the castle. Breakfast was in the other property 30 seconds up the road, which was lovely home cooked English fry up. You sat at a table with other guests and enjoyed the breakfast whilst talking about each others adventures (which was very good as on our table was a couple cycling around the world and a chap who was swimming the channel in a rely!)

I would give this B&B a 10/10 and the owners 10/10. They were really nice, welcoming and interesting. They clearly like what they do. As my title says i cant wait to go back and stay again!

Once again we stayed here on our way back from France. What can I say Alastair is a very genial host, cannot do enough for you. We stayed in the Victoria Room, very clean ,very comfortable and spacious with the best shower anywhere. Betty does full English breakfast and you could not ask for a better one to set you up for the day. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
We sat at a table of Canadians, Australians and some more English with Alistair introducing everyone and keeping the conversation flowing. With parking adjacent to the hotel, Ferry port less than 5 minutes away what more could you want. Ask him anything and he is only too pleased to give you an answer or point you in the right direction.

Stayed in Patricia - twin bedded room. It was very comfortable. Often rooms are fine for sleeping in but you wouldn't want to spend time sitting in them. This was not the case at the Churchill. The room was spacious, the settee was comfortable and 2 radiators in the room plus one in the bathroom which could be turned on if needed meant you could sit in comfort if it got cooler. Our room faced the road and as we arrived during rush hour, I thought it might be noisy at bedtime - it wasn't, in fact I got a good night's sleep which is unusual when not in my own bed. Very clean as well. Now to breakfast. The guests sit together at a round table, but what at first felt strange soon was comfortable. Alistair is a great host and chatted away to everyone quite naturally and soon everyone was interacting. Betty was in the kitchen cooking superb breakfasts, to eat after your cereal, fresh fruit salad or fresh fruit, but appeared later. They really are a wonderful couple, very natural and I could see why Alistair is likened to Basil Fawlty. Great place, brilliant, very well cooked food with great hosts.

This was a terrific B&B! We spent the night In the Clementine room. It was furnished with a sofa, chair and a queen sized canopy bed. The room was large and had great character. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The full, English breakfast prepared by Betty was delicious and carried us through most of the day. Alastair was a good host. He was friendly and helpful without imposing. We really enjoyed our conversation over breakfast. He recommended a nice restaurant called Cullin Yard down by the Marina and within walking distance. We had a delicious dinner there. The Churchill Guest House is ideally located at the foot of Castle Hill and just a couple of blocks from the center of town and the waterfront. Dover is a gritty, blue collar town you only visit for the castle or the ferry but Dover Castle is a must see. Only negatives to the Churchill were the small bathroom shower and the fact that the wireless does not reach into the room. You have to go into the sitting room to get it but these were minor things that do not detract from the experience enough to rate removing a star. Highly recommend Churchill Guest House.

Room Tip: Get the Clementine Room for the great bed and view.
