We use the take away services of this restaurant when we are in the mood for a curry and it is fabulous. I always wondered if the restaurant it's self would be as good, and im happy to report that it is. My only comment is that considering there were 4 of us the table was tiny which meant we had no room to enjoy the meal that was prepared for us I'll stick to the take away as its just to clumsy to eat here.

On valentines night we ended up driving here, although walking would have been easier. A first visit, we did drive around a bit, probably why it's called 'Island'. However, we immediately liked the ambience, and took our time choosing. there was a set meal for the evening, but although it sounded good value, it also sounded like a lot of food, and we don't have huge appetites. They were quite busy, and had two 'sittings' that evening, although we hadn't realised that when we booked. Our meal was lovely, we chose well. We had mixed starters which, with poppadums were very ample, and then several other dishes. it was all attractively served, hot and flavoursome - we were advised as to how spicy the dishes were. the bill was very reasonable, and I was presented with a single stem red rose on departure, which one week on is still blooming and holding up its head. On a night that had been one of the worst days for weather in the southeast, it turned out very well.

If your used to REAL indian restaurants like those in London I wouldn't even bother trying this! The food was bland, overcooked and dry and it took 20 mins to even get our order taken and then another 40 mins until the first dish arrived, the staff were great but the service did not match especially as there was only 3 of us and another couple in the restaurant..very disappointed.

Tried this restaurant on Friday 24 January 2014 during stopover on trip to Brussels. Food was original, perfectly served and way better than most Asian type restaurants around. Service was fast and friendly by waiters who obviously knew what they were talking about.

Fantastic value for a most enjoyable meal.
