Spectacular and a real iconic feature of the UK. I recommend Dover definitely worth seeing the cliffs. The town is a little drab in places but friendly.

A new gravel path has been created for wheelchair users, but still a bit hilly. Well worth the views. Just watching the people travelling abroad is interesting or try a walk to Foreland lighthouse.

The famous White Cliffs of Dover are amazing and well worth seeing. There's a nice walking track along the top with you can get good vantage points.

As an English teacher and a librarian, we felt that the White Cliffs of Dover were a 'must see'. They are, but please don't assume you are going to a 'beach' as my girlfriend did. To explain the entire day we had would take an entire book but I'll give you the highlights from two people totally unprepared for what was ahead of us. We took the train from London St Pancras to Dover Priory and the bus to the base of the White Cliffs. BE PREPARED TO HIKE!!!!! From the bus stop to the visitors center is a hike and thats not even the hike I'm talking about. You should be ready to hike up and down trails and do the whole trip, there and back. The 20 minute hike from the bus stop to the visitor center is just the beginning. Be sure to hike from the visitor center to the lighthouse (see separate review) . Its going to take a you AT LEAST an hour, its going to be up and down some hills, it will probably be overcast and will surely be windy, but it is worth it. The pictures and views are great.

My suggestion is to take the 'cliff view' path on the way out, then take the further back, panoramic view path on the way back. The area will be dotted with wildlife (rabbits and such) as well as poppy patches.

When open, the visitor center is definitely worth the stop also. A good place for snacks and gifts but don't expect a full 'fill you up' meal. There are bathrooms at the visitor center and the lighthouse.

Wear pant (not shorts), hiking shoes, dress in layers and enjoy the closest point to France. Its worth the stop.

What a view!
With various walks to suit different levels of fitness all the family were happy. Watching the activity in Dover port was interesting and on a lovely day the views are incredible.
