Dovers Restover Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #21 of 38 Dover B&B and Inns
Reviewed 7 June 2014

George is a wonderful host. The room was ok, but not great. I found the bed to be uncomfortable, the pillow too thin, and in general the room could have been a lot cleaner. The shower head kept drooping over and we had to use elastic head bands to hold it up to have a decent shower. The room was tiny, but quiet. We did opt for the breakfast one morning, and it too was just ok. If you have time go into town to the 8 Bells and eat breakfast there. It's a lot better.

The Dover Rover was easily found just as you go into Dover town Centre. On arrival our host (George) greeted us as after a few minutes settled us into our 3 bedded room (1 Double & 1 Single). The room was at the rear of the house and was En Suite.

The room was big enough for us 3 and had plenty of storage space for clothes for the couple of days we were there. The room had a large window to the rear which overlooked the rear garden.

The room was nice and warm and the room could be ventilated with the large window that had a couple of opening options?

The room was extremely clean and well kitted out with plenty of hot beverages commodities, a hair dryer, flat screen TV and bed side lighting.

We had read experiences from previous guests stating that the rear rooms could be noisy at night with noise from the nearby train tracks. We heard very little and nothing to worry us or keep us awake.

After the first night we went downstairs for breakfast. Juice, cereal, full English, tea/coffee, toast and preserves. The breakfast room was well laid up all good china on the tables and the food was excellent.

The host was attentive but not obtrusive and was very well informed on the area. We were staying over during a short trip to France, breaking the journey up.

A true traditional B&B with an excellent Host. The only one area that could be improved was the double bed mattress that was rather uncomfortable.

A reasonably priced stay. We would stay again. Thanks

Friends of ours chose this B&B, and we came along. The rooms are very small, and so is the toilet. There is a corner wardrobe where you can put some of your belongings. But everything about the place is tiny. The sheets and blankets are quite thin, as are the pillows which you will probably need to double up on. The price was certainly fine. But it is not the kind of place I would normally stay. Saying that, there is certainly nothing wrong with choosing the Restover. It is probably very comparable with other B&B's in the same price bracket. Especially if you are only planning on coming back to sleep here. My one tip would be to choose the rooms at the back of the building to avoid the noise of the bars letting out at night. However, the back faces toward the train and you can hear that periodically.
We didn't opt for the breakfast portion of the B&B so I can't comment on that.

Simple B&B opposite Dover Priory (main station for Dover) . For the price it is 5 star . Clean , warm , friendly host , tea/coffee/biscuits , decent tv .

If you are on the main road there is a little bit of noise from pub across the road Fri/Sat night no other comment apart from I would use again.

Room Tip: On the back away from pub noise

We stayed at the B&B just for one night, but it was great.

The owner is very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well equipped for the cold weather of October, the bathroom was perfectly clean, AMAZING breakfast! A full English breakfast homemade; say that going down stair with the nice smell... that makes you feel hungry, the dining room was decorated like a normal house. It was like being at home.

The owner very friendly and provided us informaciton on places to visit in Dover and a site to have great views of the white cliffs

We headed to Dover for a quick overnight to get away from the crowds of London and to see the coast. We arrived without a reservation and were warmly welcomed to the Dover Restover B&B. The room was clean and nice with tea and cookies in it. Breakfast was a delicious traditional English breakfast and we had great conversation with the host and other guests. George (the host) suggested some things to do and see in town and we had an incredible meal at a local pub per his recommendation. He was extremely accommodating for us and I would highly recommend this B&B and Dover!

We recently spent a night at this delightful bed and breakfast before travelling over to Calais. Our host greeted us very warmly on arrival, and we were directed to our triple room on the next floor. He gave us an access number for the free wi-fi and a mobile number in case we needed to contact him at any time. The room was great- quiet, warmly furnished, clean, with tea and coffee making facilities(and the most delicious biscuits !!), a flat screen TV and hairdryer. We had an en-suite with shower, also immaculately clean, and plenty of towels with complimentary toiletries. In the morning, we had breakfast- a choice of cereals, full English(piping hot), toast, fruit juice and tea/coffee(as much as we wanted). The owner sat and chatted with us whilst we ate, which was really nice as we were at that time the only ones in there( more guests arrived later). We paid £70 for the room, and £6 each for breakfast- excellent value. Actually, I would like to also add that when I first made the booking I put down the wrong dates- the owners were extremely kind in changing my reservation at no extra expense. Highly recommended.
