The setting is fantastic. The inn is right below the white cliffs and our room (the “Cream” room) faced right out onto Dover harbor.
The view was amazing though there is noise from the road, which could be an issue for light sleepers (there are rooms facing the cliffs in back of the house which are doubtless much quieter).
There was an “air conditioning-like object” in the room, but it had little impact on the temperature in our rather large room, so we needed to keep the windows open wide most of the time. If the temperature were over 80ºF/27ºC it would be uncomfortable.
Loddington is within easy walking distance to Dover restaurants.
Our host was very charming and helpful. Breakfast was very good.
Be aware, the rooms are on 3rd floor. And, Loddington being a very old house, the floors (and flights of stairs) are tall, so I would avoid any serious luggage.
There was parking for 2 cars right in front which was unexpected and appreciated.More
