Tried to order a quick meal at the counter in Dover Terminal before we sailed.
All lights and signs are on, all machines in the kitchen switched on, the tills are switched on en there is some enormous LOUD music. BUT NO STAFF TO BE SEEN !
Tried to a carfully "HELLO" for attention.... no reply! Raised my voice a bit to get over the loud music for a second "HALLOOOOO".
A voice in the back shouted something like "closed", but I coudn't understand it because of the loud music. Again no staff to be seen.
For a thirth "HALLOOOOOOOO, anyone there?" a women stepped in sight making a sign (and sight) like cutting her throath "Closed!" is all she shouted.
At a thursday evening? At 18.15h ?
I couldn't beleive it! Tried to get some explanation as why they were closed...(didn't look closed to me or other customers, no sign like "sorry we are closed") but all I got is an annoyed look from the women, another shout frome her "closed" and she walked away to her little office.

No explanation, no signs, rude and uninterested staff, no "sorry" and worse : NO MEAL.
How can a harbour like Dover permit this?

NEVER AGAIN.

Sometimes you just need to sit down to feed your toddler. So you want to pay for salad and fries while you do that.
While the grumpy Costa-guy lent us his microwave, we tried our luck at Burger King for the courtesy order. The state of the building doesn’t raise expectations, but it was still surprisingly dismal.

Luckily we don't do soft drinks, as the syrup-mixer was out of order.

Salad please sir? Sorry no salads today.
Fries then please, and some onion rings. The onion rings came out of the fridge close to 15 minutes after having been paid, so about 10 mins after the fries were done. Hmm let’s not wait for those then, thanks. Apologies were made and instant refund offered.

You got the impression the 2-strong staff were trying hard, but were stuck in a disastrous organization that did not care at all about this particular branch. It doesn’t matter much, as I think the average customer of the hilariously named ‘Food Village’ (including us) doesn’t care either. Still if you’re the global Burger King brand it seems to me you should try and make a better impression on your customers.

Oh by the way the fries were good. Even without mayonnaise (they were out).

Unfortunately we missed our sailing (thanks M25) so were stranded in this depressing faded dump that was well overdue for a refurb.

We ordered an expensive up-market meal (oxymoron?). The food came slowly, bun was soggy, "meat" tastless with some limp lettuce and cold flaccid chips.

Worst burger I've ever tasted in a depressing environment.

I can only think they serve this rubbish in a cardboard box to double the nutritional value.

NEVER AGAIN!

We were taking the ferry on Saturday 9th June 2012. There had been overnight storms leading to the disruption of ferry sailings. This had a nock on effect meaning large delays and very large numbers of people waiting in their cars or the terminal. We were in the terminal and joined the long line to get something to eat from Burger King. The large numbers of people were dealt with swiftly and politely by the staff.
Well done Burger King.
