We went to this restaurant as it was recomended by some people in Folkestone but sadly we were very disapointed, the place looked dirty on arrival and the food was very substandard, its a shame because this restaurant could be very good, on reading the menu you expect better than you get on your plate for the price paid, I dont suppose I will return.

1st time at this Beefeater, never again.
Service was slow and the food was of sub standard.
One meal was returned as cold and the gammon steak was more like a bacon steak. Burgers were tasteless and the coleslaw was bland.
Email has been sent to Whitbread.

Used Beefeater here many times but it really has gone off.

Two visits in two weeks, the first time the floor at our table had not been cleaned and there was considerable debris of squashed chips and bits of other food. We ate off the value menu and the food was OK, seemed a little smaller on the nachos starter but still reasonable.

Second visit we ate off the main menu and the portions were considerably smaller than the last time we ate off that menu. The salad with one meal was no more than a garnish, the chicken tasteless. The mushy peas with the haddock came in a dish and the tiny portion hardly covered the bottom of what was a very small dish.

The rib portion was smaller too.

All of us had been to Beefeater many times before and all of us said we needed to find another restaurant.

You won't find better than this buffet breakfast - freshly cooked breakfast and as much toast, croissants, cereal, fruit and yoghurt as you can eat.

Five star all round.

We have visited this restaurant on several occasions in the past and always enjoyed our visits. The staff were always friendly and attentive and chatted with you when at your table, without being intrusive.
Sadly, this time that was not the case. I appreciate they were relatively busy but even so they merely spoke to give the information like 'everything on the menu is on', and can I get you a drink?
This was our Anniversary and, like other times we had received a voucher for a free bottle of wine (as we have a Beefeater card). However, in the past we had always upgraded from the house wine to one of our favours, when we asked for this we were told - 'you can't do that'. We advised the waitress that we always did this and there was never any problem, we had been told in the past by a Manager at another Beefeater that we could do this, and had done so several times at The Plough. She went to ask the Manager, but didn't come back with a response, another waitress arrived with a bottle of wine, the one we had requested but didn't know anything about our query. When the first waitress was passing, we asked her and she said 'The Manager said you can do it this time as you say you have done this before, but it will not be allowed in future'. We noticed that the staff diid not interact with diners other than to ask about orders and drinks and the atmosphere was not as pleasant and conducive to a good evening as in the past. The food was good, but it will be quite a while before we return, if at all.
