“Choice, cooking, service & excellent location for Dover Terminal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

[Food Only] a 10 minute walk from the Terminal along the shore makes this a excellent location & without the price premium.PI are clearly on a drive with upper the quality of the pub fare & service, and they are succeeding with well cooked chicken and tasty sauces to match.
Very Good Value for money

Stayed one night on the third floor in a recently refurbished room. Simply Amazing!

From the smile from at the check in desk to the comfort of the bed, nothing could be faulted.

We ate in the restaurant, although busy for the Christmas period, food arrived in a timely fashion and was good value for money.

We stayed for one night before boarding the ferry for France. We arrived very late (towards 11pm) but we're warmly welcomed. Our room had just been refurbished to a very high standard - in fact there were still signs in the corridor warning of wet paint! The room was very comfortable, with hair dryer, tea/coffee making, large TV and a choice of pillow thicknesses. It had a modern but very thoughtful design to ensure comfort and convenience. There is a restaurant on site serving breakfast from 6.30am.
Free parking too.

Such a dependable chain of hotels! They say what they do and they do what they say. No more; no less.
The receptionist explains everything thoroughly, as usual, and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.
There is a restaurant attached and the menu is sufficient for all tastes and quantities.
The breakfasts are good value for money especially as my husband and I never eat a full cooked breakfast. They were happy to make one porridge with water the other with milk. There is a choice of an unsweetened berry compote or fresh fruit salad, plain and fruit yoghurts and juices for those who are health conscious.
This Premier Inn is a touch noisier than some others but it is right on the port. We didn't find it a problem.
Just keep up the good work!

We stayed here the night before our ferry, and as far as a convenient location is concerned, its great!

Check-in:
Not very friendly, were made to feel a nuisance. A smile would have been nice!

Room:
Our room was large with plenty of space, the bathroom as always was clean and tidy.. but we needed to get in touch with reception about something, and noticed that there wasn't a phone in the room. My husband then had to go all the way downstairs, and when asked why the room didn't have a phone, he was told by the not-so-friendly receptionist that a decision had been made to have all the phones removed out of all the rooms in all Premier Inns. She said, one day there were phones, and the next day not... WHY?? She then told him that if he wanted to make a complaint, that he could call an 0844 number. Not the attitude that was expected - was he supposed to call from his mobile? She handed him a piece of paper with various managers' mobile numbers on it . He called the 0844 number from the reception phone, only to be put through to the venue where we were staying! Not a great deal of help! The notice also stated that clients could call the GM's mobile if they weren't satisfied - this he did, but it was on answerphone.. to this day we are still waiting for a return call...

Restaurant:
Dinner was good, food nice and service from our waiter was excellent. However, I have to say that the restaurant manager left a great deal to be desired, he kept disappearing and when he was in the restaurant, creepily crept about trying to look busy! All the waiting staff were rushed of their feet, did he help?
At one stage there were people waiting to be seated {they'd been there for a good 5 minutes} before someone finally acknowledged them! I then mentioned that someone ought to get the manager, who did eventually make an appearance. He didn't look the part, was shabbily dressed and obviously didn't enjoy his job at all

Bed:
Was hard and uncomfortable - not a good night's sleep at all

We had such a bad stay, and after the telephone saga, the receptionist offered us a full refund.

Would we stay here again - No not ever! Such a shame as its in a great convenient location - but there are other places where we can spend our money!!

Typical of a Premier Inn, but this one is a little on the tired side - and boy was it noisy. Ask for a quiet room, as it is situated on the busy main road to/from the docks. This has heavy trucks all night long, and the glazing doesn't help

Our room was just a bit tatty - chipped décor, dimmer switch top missing, but there is a sign up regarding renovations.
