Very very handy for catching the ferry next morning, after a good nights sleep.
A good Premier Inn on front in Dover. Ideally placed for evening walk or quick drive up to White Cliffs NT centre.
All you'd expect from Premier Inn, clean, fresh, reasonable restaurant but book early for cheaper room prices.

There was no welcome, as the restaurant was reasonably busy we chose to order from the bar. Four of our party waited at the bar to be served for 25 minutes before I complained. The bar staff appeared to have no idea of the order in which people arrived at the bar to be served, choosing instead to simply serve whoever they saw next. A simple "Who's next please?" Possibly......? Ordering food proved to be an equal torture my son waited 20 minutes which again prompted my intervention to raise a complaint. Food, when it arrived was practically launched at you, anywhere on the table, here it is sort yourselves out style. The quality of the chicken was questionable, I'm not entirely convinced it had ever worn any feathers, it' taste and texture was very reminiscent of Quorn. Things arrived out of sync, something ordered 20 minutes after another item arrived first, apparently as it was classified as a starter it was prepared by a different chef, clearly a more proficient one! We asked if there was a condiments table to be told no, we were brought condiments to table 2, which was the number clearly engraved in the disc embedded in the table top to be told rather abruptly "Your not on table 2, your on table 96!" We all looked at the engraved number 2!!! A restaurant who doesn't know where it's own tables are.....really? The hotel itself excellent as always, the restaurant, It would have to be the last restaurant in the world, serving food to die for and I would have had to have eaten my left leg before I hopped in there for a meal!!!!

As a Premier Inn I wasn't expecting great food but having hit the end of the seafront there was a lack of options.

Though busy we were quickly seated and our food was served in short order. The menu tries to cater for everyone which may be no bad thing in a family hotel and I was wrong judge Jack-of-all-trades because the food was actually above average.

Whilst lacking any kind of atmosphere the prices are reasonable and service comes with a smile.

Unfortunately I am writing this review because we didn't get chance to stay here this time in Dover. Stupidly I left it too late to book and ended up making a hideous error in booking another hotel further down the promenade, who basically tried to stick a family of four into the smallest double room you have ever seen (a family room had been booked). Whilst the hotel in question tried to rectify the error and find us a room at 10.30 at night we tried to see if the Premier Inn had any cancellations. Alas they were fully booked too but spend time trying to find us alternative accommodation; even ringing some local B & B's to see if they had any vacancies.
The staff didn't need to go to these lengths to help and tried their hardest to get us a room somewhere else.
The reason for this review is that we have stayed in this Premier Inn countless times in the past and have always had a great stay when we have used it for a stopover. I've never written a review before on this hotel but I feel that this time they deserve some recognition. They have never disappointed us & we have learnt a valuable lesson, get it booked earlier in future and save ourselves the mither.

When planning a short trip to France, It was obvious that my wife and I would have to sty overnight in Dover to catch the Ferry that would get us to our destination by early evening on the day of travel. We therefore went for the Premier Inn Eastern Docks Dover. Firstly, they were very good at keeping us updated/reminding us of the booking, location and highlighting the facilities on offer. On arrival, we were met immediately at the reception and every thing was explained to us in detail, especially the excellent combined Dinner and Breakfast offer (we had only booked accommodation) which we decided to take advantage off. After depositing our luggage in the room (which was very well furnished and quite spacious from others of this type of accommodation we had previously used), we went down to dinner and were really surprised. The two courses that were part of the deal were very good. Not only hot and prepared individually, it was ready very quickly (definitely not microwaved!!). The service was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. After and excellent's night sleep in what was a very comfortable bed, we also had a breakfast one would normally expect in an establishment charging much more than this hotel. make no mistake, there were several B&Bs that we could have used that were much cheaper, however, for value, good food and location to the Ferries to Europe, this was well worth the outlay.

Room Tip: Third Floor rooms have good view of the harbour across the Channel and are very quite. lift very eff...

If you are looking for a budget hotel, look no further. This one is excellent value for money and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Security is also good (you need a key card before you can gain access to the lift). Breakfast is also good with the food being cooked to order.
