Wonderful sights! Dover Castle just to the north, high above the famous White Cliffs. To the west, the French coastline is visable on a good clear day.
And, yes, although the beach area consists of pebbles, for any of those folks so interested in geology, there are hardly no two alike. We have taught our two boys to always observe the wonders of nature and they (and their parents) were stymied by the volume of smooth sea stones with small bore holes evident. Some holes were completely through the stone and up to 5-6mm in diameter. Whatever process created these is a wonder indeed! If anyone knows what caused this, I would like to know.
Dover Beach area is a place to put your feet up and relax or rent a small sailboat and take on the Dover Harbour portion of the mighty English Channel!
